More Environmentals
« on: November 16, 2009, 03:34:40 PM »
AH seems like a very nice place to live.  It never rains, it's always sunny, and it's never below 72F.

Would like to see:
- Rain
- Thunder storms
- turbulance in the air (set like we set wind now)
- snow
- gusting wind (variable)
- different air temperatures that impact performance.

Why? Most times bad weather was about no one could fly so why would we want that.

Would be nice to at least see some "thunder storm looking" skies...how hard would it be to take the skies of say, FS2004 and put them in AH? They dont seem too FPS or CPU intensive.

Haha, clearly Aces High is set in Southern California, not Texas.

I'm curious, how easy would it be to fly in a thunderstorm? How realistic is having realistic weather, but being able to fly in it?

Just keep it under flyable conditions. No point of playing a flying game where the weather is that bad that you can't fly  :old:

I guess the entire arena has weather so nobody can fly anywhere....right.

Or perhaps like real life, both good and bad weather spread out?

(So what...you cant fly 100% of the time wherever you choose, deal with the 10% of them time you have to move to a different area, gasp!)

Always hated that bad whether grounds aircraft argument, it's common sense and I'm sure everyone is aware of it. Maybe it's just me but when I see people asking for weather, I assume they just want something that is more then clear blue skies with barely a wisp of clouds to be seen. Not a storm front that you see in hurricane season...

Which is exactly what I would love....maybe some scatter showers and every once in a while a thunderstorm.

Of course it easily be setup to have flyable weather only 15-20 miles away....

Rain like this would be fun, and add an interesting element to special events.

Go to the pizza map & hang out at one of the ports when the fog bank rolls in. No fun to be had unless you like flying in to stuff.

Bad weather?  They flew in bad weather often because they had no choice - unless it was a bomber mission.

And it was never calm-smooth skies. It was always a little bumpy...  :aok

Cool idea!  I'd definatley like to see this, would add to the fun of missions, sometimes being forced to dot hem at a certain time because of conditions, or not being able to do them at all because of condtions  :noid
