I go afk quite a bit... I log on, fly a quick sortie or two then do stuff around the house. Go back 30 minutes later and do the same. Imho, they aren't going to change the way inactive people are handled. Here are some nice quotes regarding this subject to back up my position.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that all countries have approximately the same % AFK at one time? Hence this kicking AFK people will have no effect on ENY.

And it would also have almost no effect on getting into full arenas because other people will just take the AFK peoples place, and the chances of logging in and having a full arena are still the same. In fact since you have slightly lowered the total people on line, you have increased the chances of not being able to get into 1 of the arenas.

We have a classic case of giving the players what they ask for, would have the effect of not giving them what they really want.

And of the ones I played if I wished to stay in with out getting a time out I could.

Believe it or not, I disagree with him on this one.

Doesnt matter ooz (sorry). What rod and a few of you fail to realize is how this in addition to the host limitations would affect users. Think about it...

You are a player that has time one or two nights a week to fly. The hosts have been broken up and capped so that large squads cant pool together (even though they still do) and run the map but you like to fly with a small squad and yet somehow the host is always full when you have time to play (bad schedule conflict I guess). So its frustrating just to meet up with your friends and difficult to schedule those arena 'special events' you like so much (DHBG missions for instance). So you decide to come in early and grab a spot but now because of rods idea you get booted just waiting for the mission time. Worse yet you cant get back in after that. Adding frustration upon frustration you start thinking things HTC doesnt want you thinking.

On top of that the ENY is still high and it doesnt sound like the idea was so great after all! And rod called me an idiot and stupid and wasted all that karma for nothing!  :neener:

Seeing as that's one of the the things I'm all for eliminating...I don't see the problem. People can at least sit and talk with their group while they wait. If it's a longer wait than viable by those means, they ought to give someone who wants to play now their place.

Your asking HTC to piss off their own customers, why would they do that?
People start getting dropped from their arena of choice and they'll start dropping accounts.

That was why HT invented flat rate pricing in the first place.
So we could all fly as much as we wanted, sit in the tower for hours if that is what we chose.

This idea has cropped up a few times now, but its never going to fly.
You want to take cash out of HT's pocket and give him nothing in return.
Just so you can win the war easier. LOL

Why?

If you deny me the ability to go AFK for any period of time, then this drastically affects my game play enjoyment.  No happy=no customer.  I sincerely doubt HTC will begin booting customers who are AFK.

It irritates me to not be able to get into an arena when I know there are people that have been AFK there for hours. Even just on our channel, we have had people that just sit there for over half a day taking up space. One was even there for three days, never played at all. Sat in the same tower, red on the list, doing diddly.

People pay to play,go afk.ho,pick and on and on.
The point being THEY pay,not you.
You don't get to decide how they use the time they pay for.

Maybe its hard for you to get in because you play for the wrong team?  :devil

[AFK Side Bar]

AFK is the best pilot in the game!

I up from a base I think there are no cons around and do the auto-climb thing until 10k or so.  I alt-tab and do other stuff (work related usually) for 5 minutes or so.  I come back and I have been killed.  I would guess 10-25% of kills by others against me come this way.

I give the AFK on 200 and re-up.

This is not a whine or complaint.  Just stating that AFK, for those not hypnotized by score and points, is the best pilot in the game.  :rofl

If I'm reading this right, some of you would rather piss off the people that want to play the game and not piss off the players that want to stay afk for over 4 hours! right. I think anyone that is afk for 24 hours should be be kick off. That is not unreasonable. Just my .02 which does not mean much in the big world of AH. :lol
