BnZs is going to have an aneurysm if you force him to explain again that ENY/Perks have nothing to do with service numbers or introduction dates.

I was unaware only noobs were allowed to fly the spixteen.
..

I don't understand what you are implying. Care to clarify?
I'm guessing what you meant was you were unaware noobs are only allowed to fly the spixteen. That would make more of a sensible response to the quote.

My answer is no, obviously not. But it's their plane of choice, isn't that the common belief?

5 ENY plane a good perk farmer?  :headscratch: I doubt that. ..

It is, when you shoot one down!  ;)

Now in all seriousness don't we all prefer someone that will stay and fight (sixteen) then run to deck when he runs out of E? At least you know you will have your hands full, providing you ran into one of those spits that's being flown by a pro noob. Isn't that what we play this game for? Don't you get excited when you reverse after the merge and you can see the other guy doing the same thing.. instead of the usual zoom away?  :x

I concur with another statement - all those that want the spit 16 perked need to learn more ACM (nothing personal). Pro noobs get shot down in this ride plenty by others who know what they are doing.

Nah, not with the XVI around.  We are yet to see what would happen with an unperked F4U-1C in an arena full of XVIs.

Yes to unperking the C-hog but last time I checked the arena was more full of pony's the 16's. I believe snailman posted some stats on this issue some time ago.

I'm just pointing out that any argument regarding perkage because X plane "helps the noobs" is a non-starter for two reasons. First, because *all* perk planes *are* perked precisely *because* they are held to give the player an advantage over most/all other types through their performance. Frankly, if one truly believes the XVI to a large extent negates the disadvantage of inexperience through its performance, then that is a great argument *for* perkage, not the other way around.

Secondly, there is no mechanism whatsoever to prevent a player of any experience level whatsoever from flying a given plane. So any "leveling" effect the noob would enjoy from having access to X plane is negated when he meets a vet in the same ride.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

I agree with you first paragraph but the second one is wrong. If you perk the sixteen you will prevent a completely new player from flying it, because he doesn't have the perks.
Unless things changes since I arrived and now you are given some perks when you sign up.

'Sorry bout that, meant given *unperked* plane. Point is, no "leveling" can exist because vets can just jump in the same machine.

XVI, LA7 and 51D aside, it does seem nuts that the XIV is perked and the 47M isnt ... my KD in a XIV is about 5:1, 47M last tour 12:1 ...

funny.  Your spot on I remember  playing around with a B38 and was having a cracking fight with someone i can't remember now.  I wore him down to the point of me about to shoot and I see one of ghostCDB's noob squeaker squadmates fly in with a spit 16 spraying over my shoulder for the kill.

He then quickly went back to base to land his 2 kills  I was like   :furious   then he has the cheek to advise me that I should finish my kills quicker! nearly fell out of my chair laughing at that comment.
:rofl You guys hear that? Bruv doesnt kill people quick enough.... Next Ill be told how to properly Tank  :rofl Oh wait someone did that yesterday  :aok

Yes, but he also thinks that effect on the arena should be ignored, so I wouldn't hold him up as an absolute authority.

Maybe we should send HT a formal request that all perking be done based off RTHolmes' K/Ds in various aircraft.   :lol
