My wish list:

Clipped/Cropped Mk.V

Seafire Mk.III (LIIC we have in game is a pig, probably just easier to import from WarBirds as the perf stuff was already known. III was more plentiful during the war anyway and carried RPs/bomb)

Mk V Trop for N. Africa/Med.

Mk.XII (if you think the Mk XIV is a torque wrench, try this on for size, not a noob plane by any means)

Bubble topped Mk XIV

Beaufighter (oops)

We need A Mk XII, Mk 21 and the unperking of the XIV.  :x

And a Vc and some more Seafires.   :D

And maybe when we add enough aircraft a XVIII could be added.  :x

What was the next spit after the Mk I ?

Before you get carried away.

We don't "Need" any more Spitfires.  Yes as a Spitfire XII history junkie, I'd enjoy it, but we don't need it.

Your question asking about what Spitfire came after the I tells me you need to do  little research on your own to learn about the different Spitfire types and how they came about.  Learning about the I vs II designation would be a start.  It's a bit like the guys who don't know what the similarity and differences are between the IX and the XVI or the XIV and XVIII.

HTC has done a good job in giving us a nice cross section of representative Spitfire marks that give us performance and armament across the spectrum of Spit types.

Too many other birds we don't have at all to worry about more Spits.  And trust me on this I can talk Spitfire with the best of em  :aok

Beaufighter is a good example of what comes long before another Spitfire variant.  And again, I love the Spitfire XII and have researched it for years long before I found airwarrior and later AH

given the big emphasis on carrier use in AH, Seafire Mk.III and Mk.XV would be great additions :aok

Hello!

You chaps know that we basically flew Spitfires for years... so, I'm a proud Spitdweeb  :) . But I must agree with Guppy. We need the He-111, the G4M, some russian models, some italian models and some french models.

I believe that the mid and late war planeset,as it is,is vast and sufficiently comprehensive to be considered closed for a couple of years... Let HTC close the planeset.

Cheers,

XV is the Royal Navy version of the XII.  Yes I love that bird too but it's postwar.  Didn't get into operations during WW2.

Seafire III would make sense.  Kev can make that pitch for that one though.  He's done the best job presenting the reasons why )

OK the quick answer then.  The Spitfire II is the Spitfire I built at the second Supermarine production plant at Castle Bromwich.  About the only way to tell the difference beyond serial number is the Koffman starter bulge on the right side of the cowling.  Later IIs had a rounded propeller spinner as well.

It says that the spitfires sometimes used a 4 20mm cannon wing.

How much perkies will it take to get a V with 4 20mm?  : :x

we dont need planes that very few people will fly as an example the p39 how many people wanted it? and now sometimes I go days without seeing one, shoot, I see more in 262's than p39's.  to have planes just for the sake of having them is just a waste of resources.  how many people fly the two newest planes now?  since its not a novelty anymore, very few people up in them.  spitfires are always heavily used in this game and adding more of them would be a better use of resources.

Isn't that the truth.  Tons of planes but it's always the next one that matters.

As for the 39.  There are lots of folks who fly em, just for the challenge.  I kinda like the 39Q.  I've got one die hard 80th squadie, Soulyss who flies the D model often.

How would more Spits help Semp?  What don't you have?  For AH the XVI is about as good as you are gonna get in terms of performance.  As AH is much more of a low level air war, the performance of the XVI fits perfectly.

As I said, I'm a Spitfire XII history fanatic.  It's performance would be comparable to the XVI the way it's used in AH.  So we get a XII.  Outside of those of us who know it's history, how is it going to benefit the game overall?  So it puts some of the XVI's in the hanger for a bit.  Half the folks in AH think that because it's labeled XVI it must be a better plane then the XIV.  So the  XII would go into the hanger soon enough as well as the E wing on the XVI has more punch then the Universal wing on the XII.

There is no Spitfire you could add that would enhance gameplay.  HTC has that covered with the Spit line up we have.

Again, I'd love my Spit XII, but there are too many other birds out there the game could use first.
