Two Question Poll 7/10/01

1) I was borted and needed something to do. Found AH to be boring with planes stalling and stuff when I pulled back full. What the hell was that about?

Became even more bored. Decided to try again. This guy Ripsnort gave me my first lessons about what the mysterious "e" people were talking about was  :D.

Suddenly, although still dying a lot, the game was fun  :).

2)
Dunno. Depends on what HTC want  :)

1) a) Realistic FM
   b) Flat Rate

I think AH has improved overall. I like the total war simulation, as I find strategy and teamwork a source of entertainment.

2) Let me do a WAG and say AH will go on the strategy side  <cross fingers>. Hehehe, ok, that's my wish, but since I dunno Htc's intentions...  What I would like is a more realistic simulation (not talking about FM here) and more strategy elements.

Cheers,

Pepe

2)Were do you see AH going in the next 2 years, and what direction would you like to see it go?
I can see HTC working on the strategy side of things and improving the game base.

1. AH was the first online sim i got my hands on. I haven't tried any other like Warbirds. I just love AH, i don't play every week, but i always get back to it now and then.

2. I would like to see the price to down a bit. 30 US$ is about 65 dutch bucks.
That is almost the ammount of money i pay for internet.
Then again, if i were to play it every day, it would be kind of worth the money.
But with my irregular visits, i will not take an account. I think it would be great if there was a possibility to buy hours, so i can buy 60 hours or so and decide for myself what i do with it.
I think the practical application of a system like this will be somewhat troublesome for HTC.

We will see, i still love AH.

#1: Came directly from AW3 hearing all the histery about a new online sim and fell in love with AH the first time I tried to take off in a 109G10 (some Beta - maybe .34 - aaahhh the good ol' days).

#2: Really concerned about this. AH developed into a direction I do not approve - that's why I quit. I see AH being a furball, late war cannon birds game (more like deathmatch with WW2 vintage planes) --- I wish AH to be the best online multiplayer sim with a historical arena and a historical planeset; a sim that tries to recreate the thrill and fierocity of arial combat in all its facettes.

#1- got my inet connection in december'99. At the time I was playing falcon, earned my handle for good AtG skills    ;). In January someone in IRC told me about a game wich was better than warbirds was. I had no idea of what was this warbirds so I downloaded the game. It was AH. I crashed 8 times in a row trying to take off and stopped trying    :). The next day the guy in IRC told me to use the keys for rudder. Took off at last. Got a spit at 1K with another spit, and loved it    :D. 8 days later, before my trial had expired, I was already a paying customer.

#2a. I see the future of AH as the new AW.That is, very good profit for the developers, big customer base, but lots of concessions to quake-ish gameplay. No more, no less. And it is a pity because it could be much much, way way better.

#2b. What I would like.....I would like to see finally the prices dropped to the minimum common denominator, so everyone pays the same. That is 9.5$. With the enormoush flush of newcomers, there would be far more people to create yet another arena. I would like to see an HA with top realism settings,2-side war axis-allieds with RPS, NO gameplay concessions, WWIIOL-type icons (with no rangefinder), better engine management, revised FMs for certain aircraft, fixed torque effects and prop wash, no autotrim, no auto fuel tank selector, and limited six view (make your back-right and back-left views more ample so they give you a decent 6 view, but disable the direct six view).

I know I'm dreaming...but this what I once thought AH was going to be. And one still hopes  :)

WB went allied vs axis total boredom and after two years of promising WB had still not fixed the joke 6 view or the really crappy and unfair gunnery.   I went to AH as soon as they fixed the FM in I believe, 1.04 from the useless one they had before.

no regrets.

Ah will probly end up with more ground targets and some kind of a modified RPS to get early war planes in.

Now that I'm slowing down in my old age and not as active as I once used to be and no longer have the time to put into them detail-oriented jet sims like Falcon and JF-18 due to work, family and a few projects, I decided to try a *simple* online WW2 flight simulation to relieve the stress and help clear my mind and have a quick little fun on occasion.  However, my first attempt with AH was unsuccessful because AH didn't like my ATI card and so I found myself at Air Warrior for about 2.5 months until I upgraded to a GeForce2 and gave AH another try and instantly realized where I belong. But now all YOU guys are stressing me out and driving me to improve and put time into this thing like I'd never planned.  Dabnabbit.

I owe no alegiance to any one simulation but will go to where I find the most pleasure and for now that is with the AH community.  Hopefully this simulation is designed so that it is easily expandable because the future is ever changing.  The one thing I do really, really, REALLY want to see are those aircraft from the earlier part of the war.  I'd be a happy camper if we could have accurate planesets for the Coral Sea, Midway and Santa Cruz battles or even Flying Tigers and Battle Of Britain.

Came to AH as soon as it went open beta.  Was so tired of iEN's lack of interest in WB, and wanted to see what HT and Pyro had up their sleeves.

I have no idea what the future holds for AH, but I'd love to have a place to fly early war planes.

1)  I heard about AH in an article and wanted to give it a try when it was still in beta.  The fact that there were some different planes than WBs made it interesting, but it really didn't hold my interest and I left when the free beta ended.  Coming back to the software this past year, the changes and feel of the game have improved one hundred percent.

2) Hopefully AH will continue to provide more dimension in areas other than just flight.  U-boats, individual combatants, roadways to enhance vehicle combat, convoys, trains and artlillary would all add to the experience and add to the air war possibilities.

This is a beautiful package in terms of video, sound and feel.  If it keeps improving at its current rate, wow!
