I wasnt trying to be insulting but just pointing out that the guys 'fighting' the way you describe are bait most of the time. The higher cons come in to the area looking for picks see a low pony and they are easy to drag away and kill 99.9999% of the time. Otherwise 'fighting' with people that dont think a pony can turn brings fairly good results.  :D

Well I've been around for quite awhile and know the "good" pony pilots in the game. I've just never heard of you.

Its not about reputation its about having fun. I enjoy helping new people like buzurd get to know the P-51 because (IMO) if you can fight in it you can fight in anything (with a little hands on time). If you learn in a spit first you will pick up all kinds of bad habits and die many many more times. The advice most people that I have helped received online was up a spit near the red bars and fly to the enemy which just leads to death after death and soon they want to give up thinking they will never learn how to fight. By telling them to stay low they will never learn about energy or how to manage it and thats why most of them turn level in every fight (you know what I mean because those are the first ones you shoot I bet). This type of approach gets to be so frustrating that many of them refuse to accept help at all and start attacking factories with bombers and when they get attacked they just turn back to drop their bombs and shoot buildings...

Sound familiar?

I don't think telling some one that they are timid is an insult, especially after you chase them for 3 sectors.

I don't think BP or Grizz started this thread.

It is not that bad really.  You run, expect to be called a runner and don't get mad about it.  Since when that became an insult?  Start a thread crying about being called a runner and . . .  well, enjoy the 15 pages  :D

It also depends on who is friends with who and who has pissed off who lately, or these threads die off fast  :bolt:
He said it best :D

No!!!  The real skill is knowing how to auto climb from 2 sectors back and either look for people engaged in a fight or point 10 or more 50cals at a fighter and click.

Leave Steve out of this...he gets touchy....

BTW, why do you guys call fighting furballing?  They are different things you know.  A 1 vs 1, 2, 3 or 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3,4,5 or what ever is not furballing.  Furballing is almost as mindless as the autoclimb point and click or pick.  Still better though  :)

Stop confusing fighting with furballing.

Welcome back and Good luck getting that through folks noggins....Das Muppets label themselves as furballers on their avatars...they don't enjoy critique

Well I trained literally hundreds over the years and I've never taught anyone to "stay low". People fight according to their strengths or weakness. I fly the alt of the fights, because I can. If you can fly there, you can fly anywhere. If this isn't your strength, you fly everywhere else.

Things that deserve degradation

1. Running 3 sectors
2. Bailing after running 3 sectors
3. HOing
4. Picking a 1v1(when asked not to)
5. Picking a gang bang(someone is already got enough on him)
6. Thinking that flying to 30k is practical in the MA
7. Toolshedding in its many forms
8. Using excuses such as "my cats on my lap" to not fight :devil

You talk about the talking making game play worse but honestly these do to :aok

OK Batt, i understand your point of view and I still, respectfully, disagree with it. Regarding your last comment it seems funny that you are so fascinated by the in-game practices of every other player but not your squad founder. I think I have had enough of this discussion now.
S!

Fascinated with the in-game practices of every other player?  LOL.  You're good.

Anyhoo. I'm done too. For the record, here is where we agree, new players should be helped and not berated or abused with such kiddy crap as alt-f4, etc. Having said that, I don't think criticism is all bad which is where we diverge. I think that there are people on these boards that can testify that I help when I can. I can also objectively and honestly say that many muppets helped me out when I was new and later too.  I remember Platano and Freezman in H2H rooms pulling me aside and showing me stuff when I was brand new. I also distinctly remember sads, agent, messiah, moot, sunsfan, grizz, mazz steve and skyrock helping me through the years. I wonder why they would do that? Anyway, enough. <S>
