Thats not base defense Dea but looking at your online performance I can see why you might think thats what it takes. The frustrating thing about attacking 30k bombers (and sometimes higher) is that they can out turn a P-51 and the wiser ones now try to stretch out their drones as much as possible so that when they warp back into place the attacking fighters collide with them. I know you probably havent see that down in the mud but it happens a lot. Then after they are finished they will call to their friends and drag you down low so that after you are finished killing them (dragging a fighter down low is a BAD idea for bombers) you will get jumped by higher fighters. Usually the higher fighters DO NOT know what to do with altitude and make for easy kills.
Just to make a point... two days ago I was ranked 173 in fighters and in two sorties of high altitude bomber interception I moved up to 50 and then one sortie the following day to 40 something so even though some might think it hurts your 'score' (not that I care)... I dont think so. Yes you (and I dont mean YOU DrDea) can kill faster in base defense but killing fighters is not the primary mission of fighters and as a purist I go where my mission leads me and not where landing lots of kills or instant gratification calls. I also dont see how intercepting high bombers is 'ruining the game' but I think thats a lame agenda speaking there.
I watched a VERY high Bish 51 last night....there was a constant furball going on around cloud level, (as that was the level of the incoming Bish)...there was ALways this P51 staying even 2-3k above THEM (prolly...18-20k?) Every time one of us managed to get co-alt with the 51...he headed back toward his base...only to return a few min later, AGAIN, safely 3 thousand above the rest of us..saw this repeat 3-4 times on 1 mission. The only time I saw you leave your perch and peek below the clouds was when I dove down to assist Box in the running M, (who turned 180 10 min earlier when he saw MY jug-N approach co-alt) as Box had to rtb with 3-4 min gas, and the fight safely near your base. I died of course, as I often do, in a hail of 50's and spit cannons, and you have a great score! We must all study your tactics, and make this a better game
I've done intense research into this, and have ascertained that no-one really dies...why fly like you really do? What is the fun in winning a contest that exhibited no risk whatsoever? There's NOTHING more exciting in this game than winning a fight that went back and forth right until the end, not knowing who was going to win. Hmm....that would be too much like a...challenge
