I am unable to find any information supporting your assumption.  While there are separate sensors to initiate contact with OnStar in the event of a crash even if the airbags do not deploy, I am unable to find any documentation indicating that the car uses these sensors for other functions.

He was giving golf lessons in the car...the mistress was using his 9 iron....can I say that?  Momma was workin over the Escalade with the 3 iron but that was ok with Tiger because he wasn't using that one at the time.
