American Airlines WiFi
« on: December 02, 2009, 10:42:18 AM »
American Airlines in-flight WiFi works terrific.  On my flight from Dallas to Houston yesterday, I connected to AH and flew two sorties at 35K much to the amazement of the guy sitting next to me who said, "How much closer are you going to get to that other plane before you shoot him down??".  The plane he was referring to was GREEN....NOOB...

So, am I the first person to fly a sortie while truly FLYING???  If so, Skuzzy, I would like my award to be an automatic increase in my hit% to 20%.  :x

The WiFi is 9.00 for flight legs 500 miles or less and 12.99 for anything longer than 500 miles.  I was shocked at the speed too...really great connections and yes, the guy asked me how it worked, where to go to get it and how much.  When I told him 15 bucks a month his response was, "holy crap...my wife would love that since golf is 78 bucks a round!  IM IN!!"

Yes...this game is worse than crack...you can't stop and apparently one fix lasts until your wife ack shoots you down or you pass out from not eating for a 24 hour period (rockstar heroin addiction) whichever comes first.  I was on a business trip about 4 months ago and started playing at 6pm.  Forgot to eat dinner, drank about 8 bottles of water while playing and looked at the clock and it was 4:50AM...I had to be up for work in an hour and a half....needless to say we captured the base and I was off to work!!!  :rock

Not any lag that was noticeable.  I also rode with Cropgun about a month ago and that was riot...Im talkin to him on VOX while the gal next to me was telling me I was breaking the law by making VOIP phone calls on airplanes...I coughed on her and she shut up...she was not hot.

The connection was really very good actually.  I was surprised.  Anyway, if you fly on a laptop and have to travel, do it...its freakin hilarious to watch people BEHIND you craning their necks out to see what the hell you're doing.  Yes, they see a VP of Sales playing a flight sim online..I just tell them I hate adults...
