Oh, lol.... yeah still on the old VOX. He is back in the service now. He gets to get on and play pretty much every weekend. Don't think he canceled his acc, just took a short hiatus until things got settled.

Good deal I will definately have to link up with ya'll. I mainly just do fighters now. I found I have more fun not worrying about score or win the war, however I still like to help take a base every now and then.

Interesting. I mean I have seen squads that work together, and I have seen hordes... I think there is a difference. For those that may be scratching their heads: a horde is a mission posted that people jump in on and they rush a base together but without really flying wingman tactics or flight and squadron tactics, and tend to be a bunch of individuals that show up at the same time... A squadron operation tends to get in together and come out together, sticking with wingmen and coordinating much better. They both have their place in the game without a doubt, but I just had allot more fun flying as part of a group that was tighter and worked together, flying the same craft and load outs to accomplish something together.
Fly with the 91st as an escort on their squad night...it's an absolute blast! If a con gets by you and the other escorts, you just get to see them get blown out of the sky by the 91st's tight knit formation!

The 125th Spartans is currently on Rook Tour (to the end of the month).  Feel free to look us up as well.  We aren't a very big squad, but do our best to at least appear to be organized.   ;)

In reference to your comment about squads not actively recruiting anymore, I would say it is simply a matter of style.  The unfortunate fact is that when someone spams country channel with "Please, someone join my squad!" or some variation, it is a turn-off to many of the older players.  Whether fair or not, it appears to be two-weeker  over-enthusiasm.  Most of the more estalished squadrons I've witnessed do their recruiting on range channel after they perceive some quality in the "unassociated" flyer that they like.

You are going about this the right way, though.  Play the field a bit and find where you feel at home.   :aok

Starting after Christmas I am going to start running around checking on the folks that have spoken up, flying with the different groups. I think I will move that part of the thread to squadrons though, and post over there... I appriciate everyone's input. It must be mostly Rookland that is slacking some, and I love the community so even flying for awhile on another team will be rough. I will see what everyone has to offer and then probably decide eventually on joining or organizing a squadron. Thanks to everyone for your replies, and Cajun of course I will wing with you anytime sir!

Merry Christmas all!

Hey Paladin, <S> bro.  The SW's are a great bunch of guys to fly with.  I can't wait for them to come back to Bish so I don't have to worry as much :uhoh
Amazing you could actually recruit that much suck into one squad.

When I did my squadron rotation, it really opened my eyes to different styles of gameplay. Without exception, every single squadron I visited was gracious and the cohesiveness within the squadron was readily apparent. Some squads based themselves on unit tactics, some on a particular style of gameplay, and one squadron was a strict Luftwaffe group, and some did whatever they felt like at the moment.

I wish I had time to continue the squadron rotation, I just can't do it while spending time in the TA and remain happily married. I'd really like to see someone who has been here a few years with a little bit of writing ability restart it, I think it added a lot to the game.

Back to the topic on hand, I don't feel squadrons are on the decline, but some are a bit less active than they used to be. It is the ebb and flow, eventually all groups see a decline in their lifetime.

If you get over to the Knights, Look Precision up. We just do our own thing most of the time, But missions, happen usually 2-3 times a day. Then we get together, other then that we cant be everywhere philosophy is the norm. Were on vox 144, when you get over.

Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

+1. This time of year we usually always see a decline in squad roster. My job gets crazy this time of year and by mid jan,  we usually start filling back upthe roster.  Lynchmob welcomes anyone to fly along with us as it was a blast winging with you Paladine :aok. I hope you stick around in rookland cuz I sincerly hate being on the other side of your guns  :salute

Maybe it is a seasonal thing, but it started back over summer. People told me that it would pick up in winter, but it didn't. I know it is an ebb and flow, and I think it is just in a down period at the moment.

Delirum what do you mean by a squadron rotation? Did you guest fly with different squadrons and then write up a report on what was done and such?

<S> Dunnrite! Yeah I have ran into some of the SW's and they are some good sticks and I hope to wing up with them officially sometime along the way. Good to hear from you sir, hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Thunderegg, I just do not know what to say to that... Maybe I will not visit your all's O'club :)

Yep, they are still in the Squadron forum section of this BBS if you're interested in reading them. B4Buster took over it for a time until he returned to the Flying Circus as well.
