You will notice some of the highest ranked pilots also have the most time online.

Before this gets totally sidetracked into something different, I'm aware that Cap is joking  :D

That said however, I must learn to egress fights earlier - preferably not screaming like a little girl  ;)

I'm the worst pilot ingame ya know!!!

It's all unrealistic crap requested by people who want pie in the sky actions performed without an understanding of how things work and who can't grasp reality.

This logic somewhat escaped me... :headscratch:

HOW SO?

oops...sorry bout caps lock.

logic is simple. they want a high k/d. they avoid fights. pick. bnz. bomb the poop outta things. run a gv and blow up buildings.
anything they can to not have to risk cartoon death.

had a guy in a p47m ran from my 38. this after crying that he couldn't pick me out of a fight with his squaddie. he felt it more important to land his 2 kills, than to engage in a 1-1 fight.  :D :bolt:

Escaped me as well lol, I've not many hours this month (work intervening ho hum - despite having 3 weeks off at the start of the month), and I'm pretty sure I rarely run from any fights (well, cept VonMesa when I was in a 190 - did the running away like a little girl screaming thing then  :D)

Wurzel

i run when the mood strikes me.........but have fun fighting.

i just got reprimanded last night for landing too much though.  :noid :airplane:

Lost me, too. I work my 40 hours outdoors. Usually come home tired (and cold in the winter), and don't have the energy or reflexes to fly fighters very much. That's why bombers are my thing, but that's not to say I avoid fights. In fact, the complete opposite has happened on a large scale.

now see.....i spent time climbing to 25k last night....to set up nice attacks on a set of lancs at about 23k. they simply vanished.....as if the dude pulled the power cord out.

going after buffs that're well gunned is massive fun...and to me, much harder than shooting down a fighter.

having fighters come after me when i'm in buffs....also massive fun.  :aok

But doesn't all that generally take longer time per kill?

That's not true ....But pratice makes a difference .

What's not true? Overall ranks in late war:  1. Hoagi   137 hrs.
                                                            2. Pacerr  108 hrs.
                                                            3. Shawk  121 hrs.
                                                            4. Snailman 107 hrs.
                                                            5. Chalenge 183 hrs.

Now Chalenge has more hours but may fly differently than Hoagi but still is ranked in the top 5.
You have only 38 hours total time in late war thus your ranking.
  I think I'm near 50 hours.

Well, I have to disagree then. :) IMO, flying more conservatively "generally" takes more time per kill but allowes less risk per kill and therefore a better k/d.

there's a couple players in mw i see doing it all the time. one was regularly landing 2 and 3 kills at a time last night.

you don't do that getting down n dirty.

gonna go duct tape some allisons in my forked tail devil now.  :aok

Somewhere along the way, I think this thread fell of the track.   :lol

I didn't mean to spark up a conversation about fighting tactics (run, pick, HO, conservative or aggressive).  My apologies.  :salute  I was merely curious about the number of hours people spend playing AH.

If this topic were to digress in any direction, I would wonder ...  what does a person do for a living that he/she can afford to spend over 200 hours a month playing AH (and where can I fill out an application for that job  :lol) ?   :headscratch:

There's been people who have spent over 300 hours/month.  Joker2 played 395 hours playing tour 103... 395 hours!  He had several tours in the high 200's as well.
