Aside from OSU, Penn State and Wisconsin, the rest are fighting for nothing.

I knows.  The three team that won are the big ones.

YEA, BUCKEYES WON!!!!!

That Oregon team will be a better next year with a handful of returning starters.

Congrats to Ohio State they just played better, Oregon got off to a slow start figuring out OSU's game plan, but all in all it was a good game, Oregon is only losing i think 5 starters, 3 offense 2 defense. I'll be looking forward to how James will run next year, only time will tell, so the waiting begins for next season. GO DUCKS !!

i think USC is going to have a bad year next year, it seemed like the wheels were falling off the mighty Trojan machine in the last few weeks, how they acted when they played UCLA they there frustration seemed to show. guess we will see come September 2010.

Wait until you hear the whining Pete Carroll again and his excuses.  Surprised havent seen the whining that much this year.

Next year USC should be overall bad compared to their other years.  Losing the WRs, the great OL, imo Barkley is overrated, no more Mays, and they going to put all the pressure on McKnight.

I also have Boise State picked to win, and almost no one else does in my pool, so if I'm right its huge, if I'm wrong, I'm probably done.

I all of the sudden have an excellent chance to win something.

"BYU had a 10 win season, Iowa lost to northwestern that lost to auburn and ohio state."

Iowa was dominating Northwestern early in the game when thier QB, Rick Stanzi went down with a ankle injury. They brought in a true freshman QB and lost 17-10. The next week they went to Ohio State with the freshman QB and lost in overtime, 27-24. Iowa finished up beating Minnesota, ending the regular season 10-2.

Rick Stanzi will be active for the bowl game. If he goes down, freshman Adam Vandenburg will be called on. He is a lot of upside. Very accurate. Tall. Good pocket presence. Lacks experiance. Skinny. Two years from now he will probably be a top college QB.

Iowa's strength is its defense. The run defense isn't as stout as in years past but it's still solid. Adrian Clayborn is a sack threat from the DE position. In the secondary, S Tyler Sash leads the Hawkeyes with 6 interceptions. Overall the defense has 20 interceptions. Amari Spievay is a top notch corner and like Adrian Clayborn edgible for the NFL this year. Spievay's weakness is that he occasonally takes chances. He has the speed to recover quickly, so he will probably draw GT's top reciever.

Iowa has three top NFL prospects, DE Clayborn, C Spievay, and OL Buluga. Clayborn has already decided to put the NFL off for a year. The rest of the Hawkeye team will be back next year.

Didn't you hear?  Your worth as a college football program isn't determined by your record, or what bowl you're in, or what bowl you win, its entirely determined by your reputation of being an "elite" program.  If you're not an "elite" program before the season starts, you're playing for nothing.

In all seriousness, I'm in the money in my pool in 6 of 8 scenarios, 5 of them being first place, including every scenario with an Iowa win.  Only if GT and Texas both win do I get nothing.  I just need a little more to go my way now :x.

P.s. Ohio State lost to Purdue, and Purdue didn't even make a bowl.

LOL Ya I missed that part of the discussion. Far to many teams getting a bye on their reputation rather than their on field skills.

Like who? Texas and Alabama are in the National championship because they are the best teams in the country. Coaching, talent, speed, size whatever you want to put up against that they are better than them. USC was exposed this year, they didn't beat teams that were better than them. USC is young, I think Barkley could do great things but we will have to see. Pete Carrol is a great recruiter, and his classes show that.
