I know.  I was not complaining about the set up.  I was pointing out the mentality of the average AH player
Are you suggesting AvA players are mental?

We're trying to make the AvA different and interesting... and we hope that is enough to make those who like it even more, and those who are intereseted, regulars.

BTW - personally, I like the fact there are NO squeakers in the AvA.

I ALSO hear there's a few AvA regular who wear womens underwear while flying... and some even wear leather... but that another story for another day/topic...  :uhoh

The people who really insist on historical matchups, or who abhor the Spit-vs-Spit arena concept, never sign up.

There may be some truth to that. I started in AH, but I have done some looking around for something that offered more "immersion" on a day/time that I could participate.

In the end, I decided to try to get what I was looking for, from this game.

I never flew in the AvA arena myself by the simple reason that it looked like a private arena to me, it was always the same 3-4 guys in there every time I looked in. And my guess was they had some private thing going, I did not want to interfeer with their little war..  :headscratch: Yes, I was new to the game, and I got hooked on DA and furballing over there instead..  :D

I have not flown at all for several months now, due to my computer crashed on me..  :furious
But I hope to get my account back up and running one of these days, and then I promise to check out the AvA arena to see what it has to offer!  :aok

Looking forward to it!  :airplane:

Actually, IDGAF about "planes I can fly".   For me it is about "not playing favorites".   Stew on that last sentence a bit.   I don't go in their primarily because of that part, it is not needed in this game at all.   It's disappointing, because I'm just as happy in Early War/Mid War rides as anything else.   Actually, it's not disappointing, it's a shame.

Edit:   Before anyone from JG54 jumps on that, don't, it isn't directed at you.   But who "it is" posted in this thread recently.   So don't bother dredging up any "conspiracy theories".   It is well known for those who were there, what happened and all agree, "it was uncalled for".

That sounds alot like something Storch would post... I wonder what his current in game name is...

I logged in last night. Allied side had me. Axis side had 2 players... colleen and someone. Neither were flying or answered. The planes listed were not enabled. AVA was broke on a night when it might have garnered interest from those not interested in TT.

That's a very true statement Shuffler.  I too, last night logged into the AVA on four different occassions to get away from the TT drudgery.  However, it appeared my country wasn't enabled and I logged for the night.

That's a shame.
Apparently AvA also suffers from "bad luck" sometimes.

I don't COAD, but my feeling is it is a little more than bad luck.  Everytime there is a manual reset, i.e. Titanic Tuesday, Tour Completion, new patch, etc. the Arena has to be fixed by one of the dedicated volunteers who try and keep things up and running  :bolt:

My guess, is that there is currently no save feature for all of the settings that make the Arena unique.  Correct me if I am drawing false conclusions.

You are just the kind of guy this post was intended for.  My computer also went legs up for a while, so I know how frustrating that can be.  Guys on the hardware and tech forums are awesome help in resolving computer issues.  PM me if you need help with your computer, maybe 2 heads will be better than one...... and certainly a whole community of Aces High enthusiasts is.

I fixed it - seems the arena was reset (again) - not sure why.  But anyways, it was resolved.  Some of the challenges of the AvA are the maps are not always perfect - but they do offer interesting historical terrains, cities, and areas where battles occured.

:headscratch: Today, Main Arena reset and AvA still works!!!!   Maybe our luck is changing.

This is a false assumption, the reality is the AvA only appeals to a limited set of players do to many factors. Since there is only a limited number of players it is very difficult to find enough online at one time to have a sustained fight.

Well, I would never leave the AvA if it was populated with more than a handful of people.

I think more people than your realize share that opinion....

Well, there is no doubt that most people ether prefer to fly the MA's or just don't know any better, but there are a lot of us who don't.

It's up to us to band together and coordinate, so we can all fly AvA together.

Hence the Monday thing.

IIRC, the AvA arena requires manual reconfiguration every time squeakers invade to win teh war.

My puter is back in business allready, I just had to format the whole thing because of a nasty trojan.. No programs would open, only a handful of documents I got access to. So I took my pictures, saved AHfilms and the few stuff I could save over to my memorystick, formatted the puter. Goodbye to Vista and hello Windows7 instead. The pc is better than ever!   :aok :rock
But thanks alot for asking!   :salute :)

Now I just have to find time to play the game, and get my old account re opened.  :x
