Speaking of stupid people and Jeeps, I get a kick out of this

and this

Yup, sometimes the "Get a big truck and yank out out" method is not the best approach :rofl :rofl

Ah yes, stupid recovery tricks... When a vehicle gets as stuck as those were, you need a winch. The Cherokee screw up would have been easy to avoid with a winch. Slow, even pull. Then again, since the Cherokee is a unibody design, it lacks the super strong recovery points of a Wrangler. Attaching the snatch strap to one side of the axle was pure dumb in the extreme. Then using a three ton diesel truck, getting a running start to jerk it out was the next major hump-up.

Of course, one must wonder what the Cherokee own was thinking by try to cross that mud bog anyway. Clearly, a mob of not so bright individuals masquerading as off road enthusiasts. But hey, you see this quite often. I've seen several instances where someone parked their 4x4 below the high tide line, only to find it won't start or they fall asleep and wake to find the ocean lapping at their tires. Ignorance has a cure, that being education. However, stupid is forever.

they had probably watched the top gear ant artic special.......when jeremy almost sunk the toyota....they used a bungy rope? to pull him out. same thing though.....hook it up, running start, and they got him out.

I liked the "Let's pull the Wrangler out sideways from the top of the roll bar." better.

Seems like anytime you get a large group together like that, the idiots rise to the top like cream on milk.  That's why I'll never go to EJS in Moab again, tried it once, only took me about an hour before I was sick of all the crowds of drunk screaming idiots, and even the "less popular" trails were backed up with traffic.

Nowadays I don't wheel as much as I used too, and when I do it's either alone (not the smartest I know, but I always take survival gear, and am prepared to hike out if I have too), or with 1 other rig (my brother).
