High ENY rides are great because enemies are more willing to engage you, even without a wingman or three - GASP!

I like the 109-E4, 202, I-16 and Hurri IID but the P-40E is the mostest fun of them all.  :cool:

The I16 with cannons is a furball bottom picker. You can sneak around under the action and pick off ususpecting spits and 109's when they goof and make a sharp climbing turn in front of you. You just pop up right under them and they never know what bit them. It's got a mean 50 yard snap shot with those cannons. For some reason players cut across your front all the time in a furball and never see the littel thing.

I love the P40, but man, I really appreciate faster planes after flying it..
A good while back I had a memorable sort..

I went trolling.. I.E. i flew to a base with nothing going on and buzzed around till someone upped, I stayed at about 3k a good way out.. just far enough to give em an icon to go after..

a La7 upped.. I shot him down.. he upped again, killed him again..  then a spitty.. the spitty gave me hell, but I finally got him.

still had ammo but fuel was close to becoming to an issue, so I decided to leave.  

thats when I found out, that if your flying a P40.. you dont decide when to leave..

here comes the LA7 again.. I turn, face him.. (im on the deck now mind you)   he tries to out turn me and augers..

I start headed home again.. get about.. 5 feet and hes back..  

long story short, he kept upping and catching me over and over and I eventually ran out of ammo and fuel and got vulched when I was trying to ditch..

I havent seen many people suck at the La or flying in general as bad as this guy did, but He had some elite reupping skills..


Now when I fly it, i make SURE i dont get anchored anywhere near an enemy base, to me a big part of the challenge flying slow aircraft is making it home safe..  which is a big challenge when you consider your flying against people who fly with utter reckless abandon and do so in aircraft with almost twice your speed.

For a 1v1 Its my fave 109.  I just dont like flying it in crowed because you have to saddle up too long to do enough damage, and by then someone has either picked your target for you, or your but has been shot off.
