I do love my P-39D, sure feels like you earn what ever kills you may get.

oh yeah, i will have to disagree with showing love for the 109f4...not that it isnt a good airplane, but that it can only fly in fighter mode

for the many of us that are score conscience, sometimes you want to fly in attack mode if things above the airbase are looking a bit sticky

the 109f4 doesnt have this option

you usually have to dip into the fighter planes of 20 ENY or lower to have good enough power to move around quickly and get kills, which is what fighter mode is mostly about...kills per time

the 109 f4 quite frankly in my opinion just doesnt have the big enough engine for those who want a nice fighter score

You can't put the Spit I in there side by side with the Hurri I and Zeke I.

And in my opinion, getting kills and landing them in LW is more difficult in a Spit I than a P-40

no doubt it is a fun plane

Compared to some of the other planes listed here the 109F does compare quite favorably.  It's fast on the deck with WEP than my beloved 38G, and gets an additional one thousand feet per minute in initial climb.  I think the 38 has the edge in firepower which is certainly a factor in killing quickly, but the 109F has an extra fifty rounds of 20mm in the nose which can be potent.

i suggest you dont go there cuz those ARE my hotrods  haha and yeah i admit the yak9u aint a 30 or higher ride but that baby is my true love. go above 15k and even P38s have trouble out flying you. i even out flew a jugm in a climb fight for 6k feet before i killed him
