this is one excellent plane..there is no down side...yet it has a 1-2 k to d...
What is up?
I am like 25-3 in it... I cant figure out why others dont do well in it.

3.33 K/D ratio here in it...Duckwng6 is a master in it....takes times, patience to learn to fight in it right.  If you get caught low and slow by anything other than a 190A8, you're dead, just about. I noticed you had a 12-6 record in tour 7 with it, do you like it better since new FM has been added?
Duck has never been below a 5 to 1 K/D ratio in this A/C since tour 5.  The guy is unstoppable in the aircraft.

My list for  "hardest to dogfight in" are:

1. FW109A8
2. F4U-1D

Neither is a turn fighter, both rely on managing energy efficiently.

as for it's k/d ratio in general...

k/d of rarely flown planes is ussually very ugly for some odd reason. I tried to get the 202 to a + k/d when 1.04 first came out but overnight someone flew it and died in it over a hundred times without many kills so I gave up on my quest to bring the 202 out of the ruble. although I am still flying the 202 a lot  


 Citabria has 36 kills and has been killed 13 times in the C.202. about 3/1 k/d
 
now lets compare to the overall k/d of the 202:
The C.202 has 65 kills and has been killed 137 times. about a 1/2 k/d

now lets say I didnt fly the 202 this tour...
65-36=29
137-13=124
the k/d of the 202 would be 1/4

so even with a plane flown as infrequently as the 202 its hard for a few experts to beguile an aircraft from the anguish of its bereavement of having a terrible kill to death ratio

Hmmm, even though the 47D-25 SuXxOReD in overall K/D, I managed a 19-6 in it.

12-2 in Tiffie.
13-4 in 38L.
2-4 in C-Hawg... LOL , im no Marine  

I have only played this tour since 1.04 was released, hence the lowish numbers, but man, lemme tell ya, I absolutely LOVE the 47D-25. The Rocket Tubes look manly and cool!

The 1d has a signifigent number of kills for and against. It is being used but not well I guess. I was trying to think why am I successful and others obviosly are not. I dont think its anything to do with me that other experianced pilots couldnt lay equal claim to.. This plane rocks, it turns fine, rolls great, dives like a kingfisher and hits like a hammer and has lots of ammo. It doenst climb well but it retains alt well in a fight which is the important thing to me. It has excellent visiblility over most areas and is very smooth through all speeds.

What is not to like about this plane?

I should note. Only 2 of those 25 kills were on a runway.  I take this plane into anything..(except scrambles against strato bombers.) and it brings me out.
My lower scores last tour in general were mostly to do with a new computer really screwing up my shooting eye. I dont know that I notice a big difference in any of the planes from the "new" flight model. The bigest things I notice are more dificulty in hitting a low spit or zero and the icon changes giving me more opertunity for a free shot at someone.
I could just be on a streak...it happens- both ways...

And especially with the new FM it#s off for learning again .. as the whole style of fighting has changed ..

Also 1 fact that contributes to the Ds bad K/D ratio is that it#s used as a de-acking ship a LOT .. and dies a lot of deaths in that mission .. (lotts of my deaths were while de-acking fields..)
