Many years ago an older friend of my father came by the house one time with a shoebox full of pictures taken from his days in a B26 squadron flying out of France.
There were hundreds of pictures, mostly smaller 4x4s but there were somne larger pictures in there. It seemed that every example of nose art in the squadron was represented and there were action shots too...flak bursts and planes with smoking engines. Also lots of pictures of ground crews working on the planes, and just standing around too

There were great pictures of the airplane crews posing next to their planes. Ed Shue was the mans name and he had no surviving children. He and his wife moved out fo state and have long since passed. I often wonder what ever became of that box of pictures......the link reminded me of him right away.
