Not bad there alaskahawk...nice cable management on the case also.
Thanks!
After going through the bigger an better concept, you know 2 vid cards, mulitple HDs, fancy case, I decided I wanted a simple system with no problems. 1 VC, 1 HD no bigger than I needed for flying games, 1 solid CPU, Good fast 4 GB Ram. Nothing fancy just effective and maintenance free.

Any of you guys use one of these kind of things? http://www.combatconsole.com/index.htm

 That is cool.
I actually built a similar shaped consol for my desk but I didn't like it. I ended up just buying a $15 bookcase to use for the monitor. (I use a 24 in monitor but didn't install it for the picture)

Just got this http://www.fspilotshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=1165 simpit yesterday. It was a little low so I used bed risers and it's fine now. I use a 24" monitor and it's not that bad, but will be going the fresnel lense route to try it. I'll try and get some pics of it up this monday. I can't host pictures or be on host sites from work. Thinking of getting rid of my x65 and pro52 for a force feedback stick next. Kind of looking for that next level. The console just caught my eye and I thought it would be cool to share. Want to also get a trim wheel or trim box made. Wont go for the "specific plane" pit until i retire and don't have to move.

That looks like the basic part my desk started out as, without the mockup cockpit. My gun accuracy improved when I moved my joystick to a center position.

I want to raise my stick pedestal higher, build an aces II seat, and add a shaker or force feedback. A full enclosure is coming soon but it's just going to be a pvc frame with foam walls to shut the world out with. Nothing fancy at all.
Trying to find somewhere that sells the seat parts pre-cut. I want it to look the part.

That's almost exactly how I set up my MFP, and what's fun is I was considering building something like that as a fun project...

Click pic for larger version.

This pic mostly shows off the lighting. The stick, throttle, mouse, and keyboard are mounted on the underside of the desk.

This would be better if you didn't see the dash board on the screen. You have a dash board for your sim pit and then the in-game dash board. Monitors need to be view through cockpit window and this would be perfect. Pretty cool anyway.

Well the "new F4U pit build" has started. The pit will be skinned and built primarily with sheet metal. what you see below is a rough bulkhead layout. I may need to clip off the bottom as the rear bulkhead is 6' tall and I have 8' ceiling height. may not have enough Clarence to get in this monster but I want the build to be to scale. I will post more pics as the build progresses.
