more like depends on how much you want to spend.  x52 pro is about 100 bucks.  I have one, really happy with it.  lots of buttons to program just about everything.  I dont use their software too many problems with it.  takes a while to get used to it specially coming from the 3d pro.  that was my prior stick.  I liked the 3d pro better, but I like the fact that now I have a throttle with lots of pretty blue buttons  :joystick:.

X52 pro works great :aok  never had problems with the SST software either, but its only necessary if you want to do more advanced programming of buttons, throttle etc. there are some useful things it can achieve.

Ive had 4-5 X52's over the last few years and everyone ive tried has a notchy elevator axis . I've had 3 go back to best buy and swapped for numerous reasons and haven't found one that is completely smooth .  I am thinking about the PRO to see if it is any better. Right now the X52 stick sits on the desk and is used only for the paddle switches . I use the X52's throttle with a T1600 stick that is nice and smooth all the way around .

I have the x52 pro and use it with the saitek throttle quadrant. Very happy with it overall, dont use the SST programming software though. Occasionally I have pulled the plug out of the stick accidently (not good when flying a 262) that is the only weak part of it IMHO

BB does not carry the Pro for 1/2 off in the stores.    They carry the X52 for $100 and the X52 Pro for $200.    Also, since the PRO is "Available Online Only" you aren't going to find it at any Stores in anyone's Area.

Just putting correct info. out there, so no one is confused.   Also, my CH Fighterstick has only been Calibrated twice.   When I first installed it almost two years ago, then last October when I switched from XP (32 bit) to Vista (64 bit).   In other words, it doesn't spike.

I had a Ch fighterstick that had a bad pot from the factory , even with the new pot it had a deadspot in the elevator. it would push forward fine but when pulling back it would jump at the beginning of its travel .  The X52 and CH FS are the only ones ive ever had a problem with..... maybe it's just bad luck .

Well, I think ill save up for a few weeks and order myself the x52 pro. If I don't like it, ill return to my 3d pro and play around with the x52 on my backup rig. Hope it works out. Hoping to get my little basement simpit going with my three monitors and what not.

I just got the X-52 Pro today and so far its great.    Theres almost TOO MANY BUTTONS :bolt:

The only problem i have is the button on the throttle that i want to program to WEP isnt working right. whenever i push it the light on the silver hat switch blinks.  It was working earlier but now it dosnt.  :headscratch:

Branch, you have to open up video game controllers/x-52 on your windows control panel.  Then hit properties.
That will enable all the buttons in game, but you have to leave it open.

Branch, you need to open it before going into game, leave it open on your desktop, enter game and all buttons will be available then.

Some of the buttons wont work if you close it (dunno why, just the way it is). I used the x52 before switching to the CH Fighter Stick. For the money, its a decent stick.
