If you put 35's on any Late-70's to 91 Pickup, K5, etc you will end up ripping the steering box off of the frame. You CAN, but the real question is and Kam I discussed this at length, you shouldn't. Ask CAP, you don't want to lost your steering box, if you're driving. Hit a pothole just right and you're in the hands of God.
If you put a 6" lift on a Suby and cannot fit 38's under it, you've failed. Also, there is no need for a 6" on a Suby. To fit 35's, Kam would only need 2" tops and then he'd open himself up to Steering Box separation potential. 33's are the max he could safely go and drive it anywhere, safely.correct. one thing most people seem to overlook, is that as they raise their vehicles, they also raise the cg a LOT. much easier to roll it accidentally. there's also the question of brakes.......larger diameter tires will reduce your brakes effectiveness a LOT. Wives and kids will not like the step ladder needed to enter and exit the vehicle. There comes a point where "lifting" becomes excessive. I won't even mention lift blocks.these are also very dangerous......in fact, i believe they're illegal in nj. Also not mentioned, IF he switches wheels, I pray he doesn't get wheel spacers.i cannot state my opinion on wheel spacers in such a way as to not get a vacation from here. I've seen what a TJ on 33's does when you lose a wheel at 70 on the freeway. My buddy is lucky to be alive. He had wheel spacers and they are dangerous, just like lift blocks.Skyjacker lifts suck btw. BDS, Rusty's Off Road, Clayton, Full Traction or Fabtech FTW. Rubicon Express lifts are now cheaply manufactured.Winches are a whole different ball game. Most if stuck, would put themselves in harms way, through no fault of their own. Other than being clueless on the safe use of it. Some people still use the snatch straps with hooks on them. Those hooks turn into deadly missiles when they snap (and they will). Most don't realize you can take a 1" diameter stick and use it to join two snatch straps safely. If you need to pull cable, you need to correct your driving ability. You either failed to read the terrain correctly, or you're in a spot you never should have been in, in the first place. Body lift kits are unnecessary 90% of the time. You gain no benefit from them as if you do, you're dropping more cash on correcting drive line angles. Suspension Lifts are better and safer (to a point other than excessive). Betty had an S-10/Blazer IIRC, not a lifted Suby.
i bet that Betty would out wrench over 50% of the people on this board. Todd
I'll take the bet.
