To successfully simulate modern combat each one of us would have to spend about a year learning each airplane just to end up cruising around and pressing a button when you see a dot on the scope.
I'm always amazed by the ignorance shown by prop plane snobs in these threads. Even Slammers aren't perfect
and the Sparrows much less so. Very rarely is simply pushing a button accurately describe modern combat. Radars
fail, or can't pick up a target due to ground clutter or even simple pilot overload. They didn't call the AIM-7 Sparrow
"The Great White Hope" in Vietnam for nothing ya know. It was not unusual for pilots to launch some radar guided
missiles simply to force the target to turn to present a heatseeker shot.
I'm not even a big modern war fan, but would like to see a bit more logic applied in your counter arguments.
