It is in 'Ginger' Lacey's far east markings.

I particularly like the fact that this Spitfire has custom markings, e.g. the guantlets, the flag, the 27 German kill marks and the 1 Japanese kill mark.

Most Spits lack custom markings like that.  I think it nicely separates this fighter from nearly all other British fighters.  I'd also like to get an ace's aircraft.

Yep, time for the Brits to get some of their better planes...unperked.

Toad,
Well, I'm not sure the XIV should be unperked, but I hope it will be a cheap perk, e.g. 25 points or less.

As far as better, unperked, Spitfires go, we need one or more of the following:

Spitfire MkVIII
Spitfire LF.MkIX (this is the MkIX we should have gotten in the first place)
Spitfire MkXII
Spitfire FR.MkXVIe

Other nonperk RAF aircraft that I would like to see eventually:

Beaufighter
Mosquito FB.MkVI
Mosquito FB.MkXVIII "Tse-tse"
Wellington B.MkIX (marque #?)
Hurricane MkI
Hurricane MkIIc
Hurricane MkIId
Spitfire MkIa
Wirlwind

Perked RAF aircraft that I'd like to see someday:

Spitfire F.MkXIVc
Spitfire F.Mk.21
Mosquito B.MkXVI
Mosquito NF.Mk.30
Meteor MkIII

For now though, my cry must be "BRING THE Spitfire F.MkXIVc TO ACES HIGH!!!

Xjazz,
If you could translate that into english, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks.

Spitfire XIV is in the same class as the La-7, Fw 190D-9, and P-51D.  They should all be perked.

And the Mk. XIV should be modelled in RCAF markings.

Pretty plane Karnak, however No. 17 Sqdn. didn't receive Spit XIVs until June 45 (FR. XIVe). None of the far east based Spit XIVs saw combat during WWII.

If you really want a Spit XIVc it should be from  Nos. 610, 91, or 322.

No. 402 RCAF would be a good choice, operational by Aug. 44 and based on the continent (Antwerp/Deurne (B.70)) in Sept 44.

My choice might be No. 322 (Dutch) Sqdn. or No. 350 (Belgian). No. 322 was operational by March 44 flying the Spit XIVc.

No. 610 would also be an obvious choice for a Spit XIV. 610 was the first Sqdn to receive the Spit XIV (Jan 44) and flew it the longest of all Sqdns.

Other candidates would be Nos. 41 and 91, which also flew the Spit XII and No. 130.

Well I love RAF planes but I would sooner have a Handley Page Hampden than a Vickers Wellington.  The Hampden only had a slightly less payload (4000lbs as opposed to 4500lbs) and slight less defensive armament but it was vastly more manouvrable.  It was also more common and very underated.  Of course, this plane wouldn't stand much of a chance in the MA but would be an excellent early war buff.

As for the Whirlwind, yeah, I'd like to see that someday but only after the Mosquito.  Incidently the Whirlwind flew in 263 Sqn which is the same squadron as our AH Typhoon.

Regards
