funny thing...i missed it at first....npw not at all, although i'd like to have the time to get back in....but i don't miss it a bit right now.
So this tetchiness thing is a feature - or a bug? I'm not talking about you, clearly. But, I can't help but notice, this bbs is almost as combative as the MA.
Somebody mentioned oldman. He's a good sport. We've had some fights in the MW before.
I don't mind competitive esprit wrt the flying - anyone who hasn't got it being a bit of a dishrag, imj. The part that bugs me here is the knee-jerk tendency to start disparaging the author over a disagreement on something that need not be cast as character-related at all (the ad hominem, or, as I call it, playing the man and not the ball).
Thorsim corrected me recently on a snap judgment I'd made concerning a post by Gaston. I'd skimmed and dismissed out-of-hand. I took Thor's post to heart, went back and reread, did a little analysis, and responded more thoughtfully. If I can do that, I expect others can too.
I guess that would be too much like losing. Win the threads!
