I think the "New Version" pyro refers to is like a major release.   Where HiTech Creations spends all it's time developing and testing the major release and then spends all it's time pushing out fixes to the last major release in the form of patches, until they have their  next major release ready to go.  or at least that's how it appears to work.....
How did you figure that out?

Small hills for GVs coming back & H2H-type play are slotted for future release (straight from HT) but it's hard to say if they are part of the next major release.  Hopefully AI for AvA & special events will be coming sometime also.

I don't think the question of when is the issue, but...

WHAT'S IN THE NEW VERSION?

Well, as the new version has not shipped yet, I would have to say there is nothing in it at the moment. :)

Tell you what.  When we ship it, we will tell you what is it then.  How's that?  That work for you?  Works for me, considering that is when I find out what is in a new version.  :neener:

Pyro let slip that Patch 8 is the last before a new version of AH2, and that the new version is close to release.
Soooo... what's the new version got?

I vote for the return of sheep and hills.    :noid

I think the new damage model that has been in testing in the WW1 arena will be pushed to the WW2 main arenas in the new version update as well as new margarita blenders to replace the aging blenders S.A.P.P currently has in the P-38s.

Pyro today

"There's a new patch available that fixes a film viewer compatibility problem that was keeping it from running.  This should hopefully do it for the patches until the next version which is not very far away. "

the patch is for the film viewer untill the next version of the film viewer is released, thats how it sounds to me, could be wrong, I havent heard of any beta testing for a game update so it has to be the new viewer

NEW STUFF! Maybe, it could also be old stuff that's been redone, or old stuff we've never seen.   :noid

Well, if you are talking about the patch released today, that is different.  He was asking about the "new version", which is not a patch.

For clarification.

A new version would be 2.19.

A new patch would be 2.18 Patch X (where X is an incremented integer value).

Maybe we'll be getting some motorbikes with sidecars.  That way 30+ players will have 1 troop in the sidecar apiece and make base captures even more fun.  Lots more targets to strafe.
