Anyone have  PT Boat stories they want to share, I enjoy them. Has anyone had good luck attacking with torp's. I seem to come away with kills most outing's, against aircraft that is. Any ideas on a perk boat you would like to see. TY.

Is there a rightup on the guns that are aboard.  I only effective with the firing the MG's, button 3, which I believe fires 3 guns.  But button 4 cannon(the one you cannot aim because of an obstruction) and the rear deck gun, I am not quite sure of their uses?

Thanks

As far as I recall, the PT posn's are;
1 - Helmsman/Pilot
2 - Port .50's
3 - Starboard .50's
4 - 20mm
5 - 37mm (no sight, just the ammo tray)
6 - 40mm
7 - Rkts (no sight, practice, practice)
------------
If you select the "Fire all positions" button, you'll get the 2 MG positions and the 20mm firing all at the same time, if the target is within the arc of fire for them.

The 37mm can be used at long range.  I would suggest playing with the head movement until you get a good view thru the ammo tray, which is what I've done.  The tray encircles the view, and I aim in the very centre of the open area.  It gives me enough leeway to see the fall of shot, and adjust fire.

The 40mm is not something I think I've actually hit anything with.  Slow fire but good ammo supply.  I have better luck with the .50's (using 'fire all positions' usually)

Cheers

Luckily, most don't know how to effectively use the 40mm Bofors when engaging other PT boats, and to a lesser extent, airplanes.

I consider it the only effetive gun onboard. The AAMG's just don't have the firepower to stop a plane before it easily sinks the fragile Elco.

In a PT vs PT engagement, the 40mm can be used to land shots with relative impunity. As the opposing PT comes into view, do a full 180, placing the stern of the boat toward the enemy, while still keeping underway. Using the first ring inside the 40mm sight, the gun will hit out to 3k easily.

The beauty of it is, they cannot use their own 40mm as you are still moving, and they have to follow to stay in range. The 37mm has no sight, and little ammo so is usually easy to avoid it's fire. The other AAMG's won't reach as far either.

Engage planes using the same method. Turn the stern towards them, and start firing at 3k adjusting aim as needed. Usually they will fly straight towards the PT stern, making them easy to down before they get within 1500 yards.
