The 105mm Sherman was not meant to shoot other tanks. It was used by HQ companies to provide indirect and direct fire support. Same 105mm Howitzer as on the M7 Priest. In tank units the M7 was considered too vulnerable due to the open top so the 105 Sherman was used instead.
I kind of think we ought to wait til we get these two new Shermans before we start asking for more though. Seems like the 76mm gunned Sherman might do quite well. And the early 75mm gunned Sherman sure opens the door for more scenario options in particular if we get some other German armor to go with it. The skinners ought to have a great time with all the options for paint schemes on the 75mm gunned Sherman, in particular if HTC allows M4, M4A2 and M4A4 variants to be skinned on the M4A3 so that both US and other Allied Shermans can be done.
