Ok, so I have played AH2 for awhile... I used to run with The Old Breed until 1) seemed they stopped playing while I was in Af-trash-istan and 2)FA is shutting down and I believe TWC may make AH2 their home (watch out, because in my time I in AH2 I haven't seen the level of teamwork we can bring-- without 30 people rolling somewhere!)
Here is my problem, even with 2, 2.5 years in AH2, and a seasoned Forward Observer and Company FSNCO who's whole life depends on range estimation on the real battlefield, I am close, but not hitting with first rounds like the uber GV'ers. This means I dont have time for the 3rd shot which is usually my hit. 1st shot over or short, 2nd shot adjusted, 3rd shot on target.. How are guys getting me on 1st and 2nd shots- when not spawn camping where distance is known roughly?
The reticle in the tank, as with in my bino's are not in mils. So I can't say, tree is roughly 12-15 mils which with the mil ratio applied, 1 mil at 1000 meters is 1 meter, so if the tree appears to be 15 mils tall the tree is 1000 meters away, so the tank next to it is a 1000m shot, which in AH2 is roughly 800-900yards.....
Also, with the reticle, tanks do not seem to "fit" between distance indicators. What I mean is, a tank type, based off its size, should fit roughly between distance indicators to help assess distance (Forward Observers are keen vehicle I'D specialists as well).
Anyways, how is it done? Any help would be appreciated.....
