Well it just seems like a quagmire to go off and just leave a base almost totally defenseless.

(Quagmire)Hassle/Obstacle.
I have news for you, if the VH is down, you can't even lift an A6M2, you aren't good enough to come from another field with E and nobody else is interested in defending the field, it is defenseless.  All you getting vulched is doing is padding scores and perk banks.

Really so i suppose there is a tactic to beat 7 planes jumping and vulching on runway.Esspecially in the air.

Yesterday I happened to be in this very situation...at first I started getting frustrated but then I clipped my ears back a said to myself that's it..I upped a spit 5  and just floated about the the field...F4U after F4U came screaming in and I just flittered about while a couple were in the guns taking them down, I was getting kills without engaging it was sweet..proxie proxie proxie...I even managed to rolling scissor one into the deck....it was quite fun but I did have to change my attitude for this to happen...I could have changed base but I decided to get in and put a thorn in their side...after a bit others came into help out and we destroyed their hopes and dreams....

This happens a lot (I will usually find the biggest redest dar) and this is what I do most often...forget about score first and foremost as this is why frustration and tantrums happen....get in there and mix it as best you can with stupendously crazy odds...what you can get out of it is some ACM that you can then take out into the big wide MA and use against 1,2,3 opponents and come out with an amazing sense of achievement...win or lose...

Okay, I'll go along and ask.  How do you propose they decide how to charge for vultching and picking? They are two tactics that are here to stay, get over it and learn to beat it.

Yes, up from another field...come in with the advantage of alt and speed.

What is the point of vulching besides ruining the game for everyone if its not picking its vulching.Thats all anyone does no one in this game has the balls to come and fight.I would love to see a perk price on the vulching and pickings.I mean if im not that old to this game and i have the guts to come and fight i know there is alot of people who have to be total wussies.

Getting vulched on landing is more of a problem than taking off. As others have previously stated, you can take off from other fields to enter a fight, but your options are usually limited as to where you land.

For example, I upped into a furball without incident and was able to get 3 and 2 kills. Upon landing my heavily shot up fighter on the runway, I was vulched both times and killed just 3 seconds from ending the flight. There were plenty of friendly targets all around me, but the  :furious decided to go for the easy kill on the ground.

I do feel your pain.  I will not give you the typical learn to live with it response.  Here are some good suggestions:

1) Up from an adjacent field.  Nothing better than jumping vulchers with an altitude advantage!

2) Jump in a field gun.  The 37MM makes for a satisfying poof of almost any plane when you hit them!

3) Spawn a Wirbelwind, Ostwind or and M-16.  Master these vehicles and you will become a vulcher vulcher!

These are not the only strategies, but they are the most basic and effective response to a vulched field.

Follow one or all of these ideas and you will have a more pleasant game experience.  Good luck Sir!

If you take off from a field under attack, expect to be vulched.  Don't equate your stupidity for taking off a base under attack with the other player's lack of skill because you were vulched.  The only 'wuss'  is the one that posts a thread wishing to perk vulching because the 'wishee' doesn't have the intelligence to take off from a base that isn't being attacked.

You should change the focus of your wish from [laugh]perking vulching[/laugh] to posting how many whine "wish" threads in a single day.  I think this narrowed focus will allow you to achieve your aims.

Yes but then again they end up with capture and cap then when it does pop they are hovering over town,as soon as fh pops they fly over to vulch. And either way go in from another base or not your going to die eventually. They will just jump you.

OK, so if you up from a contested field you die. If you up from another field and fly to the contested field you die. Best thing to do is switch sides and up and go to the capped field so you to can vulch. Of course if you were unlucky enough to run into a lone SBD flying at 8k or so.....

You'd probably just die on the way to the vulch. Seems like you have a problem just plain dieing regardless....you could get a magic wand over at WoW I guess.

Come in @ 200, gear up, aim for the main pad, kick lots of rudder, slam it on the ground, try to slide towards an open hanger, continue kicking rudder and push the stick forward.

Take a look at some gun camera footage of airfield attacks, vulching as we call it in cartoonland, takes place in every airfield attack ever recorded, by every country.

Drive a few wirbs out onto the field and defend it that way, or come from elsewhere with a height advantage, and probably an ammo advantage.

Vulching is here to stay, irritating as it may be :aok
