Speaking of, I couldn't find any info to support my 24" monitor 1920 x 1200.  I am running windows 7, Quad Core, 8 gigs of ram and a NVidia GTX 285 video card.

Everywhere I read, there was no mention of 1920x1200.  Are you saying I can run this game on that setting?

AcesHigh supports 1920x1200 no problem.

even goes higher than that actually.

I THINK 2048x1536 is max.

you can download offline missions to get more of a feel to the physics and flight model etc before you sign up for the trial. The FM in Aces High is very good and I prefer it over IL2, although IL2 is fun I found the FM to  be more generic accross the plane set, where as the difference between flying a 109F4 and 109k4 is very clear, engine torque is modelled in aces high which i don't think its modelled in IL2. I am not knocking IL2 as I do enjoy playing it.

Try the free trial and have fun, if you like historic match ups check out http://ahevents.org/ as there are alot of hosted events.

Well, I loaded it last night and played around with my X52.  For the life of me I cant seem to configure the stick and throttle.  I will try again tonight.  I crashed every time I took off.  I gain speed, slowly pull back the stick and I spin to the right and crash.  Over and Over.

I closed the game and flew my Mooney Bravo in FSX multiplayer a little to release my frustration.  Gonna try again tonight.

It's probabely the torque thats pulling you over.

Depends what plane you're flying if your using rudder ...

+ you might want to take off in auto mode first untill you get all your settings fixed.

In this game, there is an Auto Takeoff Setting that is automatically enabled, and I would recommend not touching this setting.  You will know it is on when you are taking off and you see green text in the middle of your screen that says "Auto Takeoff Enabled".  When you move a control, it immediately turns off the auto takeoff.  I would also recommend toying around in Offline practice or a base in the back lines in an arena while you configure your controls.

There is also ways to fine tune your controls with scales, which details how to do in a sublink on the AH Trainer Corps webpage.

Don't be afraid to ask for help in the game, as most will be accommodating (ignore the alt f4 comments).  It will also give you the opportunity to meet some of the community and potentially join a squadron.  Hope this helps, see you up there.
