This thread coulda been fine if you stuck to the facts and avoided the politics.
From what I understand BP has equipment and capabilities the government does not. They are the only ones who can fix it, the consequences and investigation into whether or not they acted quickly and correctly enough can come afterwards. Best you can do is demand that they don't delay getting a possible fix on location to save a few pennies, which they wouldn't do anyways because they're going to have to clean up the mess, which is going to be far more expensive.
I see people expressing "outrage", but I have to wonder... outrage towards what? Accidents happen, that's how we as a species learn. I'd be outraged if BP didn't clean up the mess and weren't trying to fix the problem, but from all appearances they are trying to fix the problem and have said they will clean up the mess.
