I hate it was attacked but, if youre going to do something like that in the MA, expect those kind of things. It should have been in the TA or SEA like all the others in the past. The average IQ in the MA is probably around 30. Even if it was posted on 200 i wouldnt expect 70% of the people in there to understand what the words meant. There is no excuse for others retardation. Junky can say what he wants. But if he attacked it (knowing he tunes to 200) then he is a complete sweetheartbag for doing so. But he might be one of those 70% that cant read (so he claims). Along with some n00blet named trooptard2.

Of course we absolutely knew there would be shots fired.
We wanted the most people available to pay respect, and that is what I remember about the mission.  If I had a penny for every display of respect towards a fallen AH'er I would be rich.

Yes it happened.  I do want to believe that the someone that did it simply didn't know any better.

I won't remember those parts of the mission.
I will remember......
All the DHBG almost choking up when DNR911 (His widow and long time AH'er herself) announced she was online and in Papafox's airplane.

The Bish lining up on our first overflights followed by all the <S>'s thrown out.

Approaching the first NME base and everyone instinctively calling out the cons only to have them wing up and fly with us.  Then more, and more, and more, till the sky was filled with as many red icons as green and 99% of the game showing respect.

Then flying over the second NME base and having two different NME red icons all in one big furball.  My wife next to me grabbing Kleenex after Kleenex at the sheer output of respect.

NME 262's and 234's completely vulnerable and flying WITHIN the ranks............easy pickings....and no shots fired.

I and others were angry at the shots fired, but like we said we knew it would happen and it was less than expected.
Those shots will be forgotten.
The honor and respect given by all who attended was overwhelming.

I've personally known Vega for over a decade.  He is the one who got me into AH. He was a friend.
I know he was watching and didn't mind.
Remember the actions of the hundreds who were there and not the bad ones that were expected and could have been accidental.

SERIOUSLY FOLKS

<S><S><S><S><S><S><S> to all who have shown their respects here and in the flight.

I flew the epic mission the whole flight and never once did I hear or see anyone using the memorial flight as cover either. Have to call B.S. on anyone that has used that as and excuse to attack the memorial flight.

If you're saying you didn't read numerous statements on 200 saying that the supposed "EPIC" mission coming out of rookland was the memorial flight, you either weren't paying attention or didn't have 200 tuned. I KNOW because I saw the huge dar and multitude of red dots, and upped 3 sectors in front of them and spent the entire climb monitoring 200 and trying to figure out what was going on. I knew the Memorial flight was that night, but knew nothing else about it (not even that it was originating Bish, not rook). I figured I'd either join this huge formation coming our way, or attack it if it was not the memorial flight. REPEATED questions went out on country and on range about the nature of the huge formation, and REPEATEDLY comments were made to the effect of "this is the memorial fligt, don't attack us" - that were later replied to by others with "that's not the memorial flight, it doesn't take off for another hour." Junky made repeated statements that he intended to attack the formation headed east to Knight strats, to which replies were made such as "this is the memorial flight" and "if you attack us you're a $%#$%"....... those people making those replies knew that the memorial flight was not up yet, and they weren't part of it. I don't recall the names, and unfortunately didn't have film rolling, but I know for a **** fact it did happen.

I SAW Junky attacking the rook formation, I was within icon range (for those of you too dense to still not understand that he was NOT and to my knowledge DID NOT attack the actual memorial flight) of him when he was engaged by a Pony and 2 47's that were escorting the buffs.

Here's a request, for someone whom may have been either attacking the EPIC mission or was a part of it, and happened to have film rolling: Post up the film of the epic mission, beginning to end, and I'll gladly go through every second of it and post up here exactly who said what and what they said, and we'll see that what I said happened did actually happen. Any takers?

I think I filmed it.. If so I'll get it to you as soon as I can dig it up...  As I said earlier, I don't recall anyone trying to use the Memorial flight as "cover", that doesn't mean it didn't happen.. I can't think of anything more dweebish or lowley.. The whole point of the Epic missions is get into a fight not avoid one...   :salute

Fellow pilots,
We Dickweeds have resolved our issues with the memorial flight and ask you to move on to other topics now. We're back to leveling your cities and taking hits from you fighter jocks (and shooting back, of course), as it should be.

I don't think there's a one of us who regrets flying the event in the main arena.
Salute!
