Which goes back to the basic question.  Why should a guy with 10 sorties be ranked higher than a guy with hundreds of kills and sorties.  there's more guys ranked in the top 100 that are logged in today with less than 50 sorties some have less than 20. score rewards few sorties vulching then stop playing in fighter mode for the rest of the month.

It is about knowing the score system & how it works & knowing what targets to hit to maximum affect. For example currently I am ranked #3 in bombers? Was not aware of this until a few days ago & it was completely by accident. Was just trying things out with the new changes. Now if I wanted to I could get #1 I very easily could do that just by hitting what I need to hit to get it.

It may not be to your liking the score system but it is what it is & I have not seen any one come up with one much better yet.

rainman?

Well.. the key to a really high bomber rank is getting a lot of captures... and 7 is quite a lot. As a lone wolf, it would be almost impossible for me to get ;)

I for one would like to see something like "perks per hour". Now it's neccesarily not more that much meaningful in terms of skill assesment... but it would absolutely require someone going for the top to fly on outnumbered country, and step out of Tempest or Spit XVi and fly high eny planes :)

Not a bad idea.

I would like the strats to be the highest benefit for bombers to hit at present no incentive to bomb them if your after rank.

As far as captures go lone wolf is the best way to get 7 or more. Read the bug forums it is all spelt out how to do it.

I've noticed that that there was a #3 rank in bomber ranks and yet he has only done 5 sorties. 2 were base captures. Maybe there should be a 100 sortie minimum as far as bombing goes.

Ah so.then those players that don't get to play as much wouldn't be allowed to go for top score. Nice  the game isn't about score ya know.

I'm not concerned with score..........only that the enemy who used to feel safe at 30k now has to look above his altitude wondering when I will show up.

That also goes for guys at 40k.

Then why is there a rank system? 100 sorties may seem like a lot, but when bombing, taking up a formation counts for 3 sorties. 33 sorties isnt that much and doesnt take long to do.

Not a bad idea.

I also agree with this. All I hear is that bombing the strats (capitol, city, factories) is a waste of time and that it doesnt help the war effort. If so, make it matter HTC.  Also I would like to see some bases use the puffy ack as well.

I've only gotten over a hundred sorties TOTAL one month in the las year of playing. So your saying I shouldn't be included in the score keeping, as well as any other who fly as much as I.

chipr you resurrected a 2 year old thread that was based on the old strat system.  if you want to complain about the scoring, start another and give it up, because it's not going to change.  you want to score high, then learn how the scoring works not how to bomb.

The thread is old because I didnt want to start a new thread. People tend to complain about not searching the threads before starting a new one. And also, my opinion on ranks is about the current scoring system. Some guy has 5 bomber sorties and he's ranked I believe to be 3rd. .

Two things...

It's a combat game; score and rank is just not that important, no matter what anyone thinks.

Bumping an old thread is just not good practice. Start a new thread and link or reference the old thread as support for your assertion.

sorry bro, but they're not really your posts.  their on a bb where everybody can comment as long as it is related to the topic.

just for the record I mostly agree with you, but that's how the scoring is done and it's not gonna change.  so basically fine tune your scoring ability,  I know your bombing skill is pretty high.

I like the perks per hour Idea because currently the scoring system goesn't care what plane you fly in. Seems to me if 2 players had the same stats in each fighter category, I would think the one who flew all his sorties in a P-40 should be ranked higher than the one that flew all his sorties in a Tempest.  :aok

I think gaming the scoring system is not as easy as it sounds due to the balance that's created by the categories, some being total score, and some being per hour.  I guess it's possible to spend the majority of your time vulching, hoarding, & picking, as these will increase the 'per hour' stats. If there are enough of these opportunities you can also generate enough kill points to go allong with those ratios. But If you examine the top 100 fighter ranks for Tour 140, I don't that. I see a lot of good sticks.

I have brainstormed some methods for reducing scores for hoarders and picker and vulchers. But I won't hijack the thread.  :salute
