As soon as I wake up in the morning (laid off) I stumble into the livingroom, hit the power button, get some iced coffee outta the fridge, sign into AH. The only time I take a break is to eat, ect.  Too absorbed to even wash my nice Mustang or anything, only leave the house to get beer or go to Karaoke a couple times a week.  How have some of you broke the AH addiction? I need help!   :joystick:

??????

I personally don't like to hear about people playing video games and drinking beer all day while I'm busting my bellybutton at work so 65% of the country can sit on some level of assistance.

how long do people think this will work?  Methinks unemployment is obviously paying too much if the unemployed are able to afford such luxuries while unemployed.  Eventually it will all come crashing down on us.  Oh wait, it is.

So my advice would obviously be - APPLY FOR A JAY OH BEE! Go out and meet people looking for jobs, network with people looking for jobs, get used to being rejected for jobs if for any reason to brush up on interview skills, find out what employers are looking for today and try to be that person.
When you have put in 8 hours a day at least doing that...THEN go on AH, Karaoke, buy beer etc.

Leave the assistance for the folks that truly need it.  The physically or mentally challenged.  Especially for our vets!   :salute

I missed the part where he said he stumbled to the front door to look for his assistance check.

Funny how everyone complains about "assistance" until they need some.  Then, hey, way to go government!!1!.

I work with a guy just like that.  Heard the same thing as from Sincraft, until his single daughter got knocked up and, hey, way to go government!!1!

I was out of work for nine months.  I applied for "assistance" merely to become a statistic.  I never collected a cent.  I didn't need it.

Personally, I like to complain about my hard earned tax dollars going to build football stadiums.

Nah, we work heating so always get called back in the fall, I like having the time off every summer. Usually I spend the time outdoors gettin in all kinds of trouble, so maybe it's not such a bad hang-up to have after all?

I have a job, its just that I get laid off every summer, boss pays for our unenjoyment. U must be thinking of "welfare" , that's what us tax payers pay for, and I am against it with you. (except for people that really and truly need it) :salute

Unfortunately, looking for a job is pretty much useless these days. I'd say look, but don't expect to find anything.
Best way to beat an AH addiction - keep playing. Eventually somebody will complain about the way you and others are playing and there'll soon be a rule to stop you from playing that way. Can't have fun in the game for too long without someone complaining.

If your into Karaoke. There already may be no help for you.

But there is therapy that may help.

Take one large bucket of water.
Submerge head in water and while submerged. inhale deeply 12 times.

That should cure ya of just about anything  :D

One cliche after another in this post.  No amount of "networking" (which is just some BS catchphrase, big around colleges) I stopped applying for real jobs along time ago its useless why bother even applying to a position that could be getting hundreds of applicants?  The bottom line is luck and being at the right place at the right time.  although the more time you spend looking the more likly you will eventually get lucky.
