Repair pad?
« on: July 14, 2010, 07:25:09 PM »
I had an idea that if you got your oil or radiator shot out, if you managed to limp back to base before your engine cut off, you could taxi to a place like a re arm pad and get the hole plugged. It could even apply to fuel tanks as long as your not on fire. Eager to hear your opinions.

I think this has been covered before. But i say yes as in real life if you got your damaged plane home it was repaired. But i believe it was thrown out as its just as easy to bail out and start again. and in the M/A if you are limping home you are 70% of the time a sitting and daed duck.

Nice idea keep it up HTC may yet say aw hell lets give them a repair pad lol :lol  :salute

In real life repairs would have taken a very long time, not the instant 30 seconds it takes to re-arm.

If I was the mechanic, I would not run up to the damaged war machine that is both dangerously over-heated AND leaking highly combustable aviation fuel all across the runway.

What is this "search function" of which you speak?

Been brought up before, as shown in previous threads brought about by the "search function." Ultimately useless unless you are a score-hore. Different ways of regulating it have been thought of, perk system all of it's own, certain amount of time to wait, etc.

Just plain useless IMO.

Search is at least as useful as spamming the BBS with the same requests over and over.  Just because
you haven't been here long, doesn't mean you are the only one to think of it.

I would be all for this but if and only if it included this:  As you sit on the rearm pad you have to listen to the radio chatter of the crew chief cussing you out for taking "his" aircraft out getting it shot up by a no good college boy who only borrows the plane to fly it from time to time.   LOL!!!!
