Markus is normally a pretty up beat guy:

Here are tips for doing what the Captains are telling the passengers in SD to do before they get on the boat:

http://www.976-tuna.com/e107_plugins/landing/audio.php?btrack.10.1377633550

p.s. same principle applies on any boat on any fishing trip, almost 100% it's pretty wise to do what the Captain asks, I'm sure all of you know this, but we all forget from time to time.

Right after he hung up the sat phone, they landed a 120# BF.  Somebody brought the right gear.

Even though it was cold as a witches tit and sprinkling out I got out and got some trout yesterday.  They are currently getting smoked on the grill with some chicken.  Good eating in t-3 hours.

I had a friend of mine who used to have a little BBQ stand next to a gas station. He used apple wood to smoke everything and it was fantastic, until the day he got some catfish from a farm pond a couple counties over.... It was delicious. Flaky and smoky and fell apart with every bite.  :pray

Check the supermarket.  Maybe it's a local thing but I can get a big slab of smoked carp for like 4 or 5 bucks.

I've used apple and cherry wood with great results on tuna (albacore, yellowfin, bluefin,) yellowtail, and dorado (mahimahi.)

Unfortunately, I had to give the smoker back to my brother (borrowed) or I would've had the chance to try it on other fish. It's tasty, give it a try if you haven't, even if you're only just throwing some chips on while bbq'ing it conventionally, it will add some flavor.
