Wildcat,

You'd asked about making lures, well I've made a few,I tye flies even replaced an eye or 2 on assorted rods over the years.

Anyways 1 thing I used to do is collect silverware, not the real silver stuff the cheap stainless stuff.I wouldnt bother with forks or knives but spoons were what I'd look for! Then I'd cut the handles off, simple hacksaw, and file the edge smooth.Drill a hole at each end,add a hook and a swivel at the other end and you have a simple spoon lure.

You can paint, add decals or just use as is,they're cheap and you wont worry about loosing them! I've made plugs, jointed minows and flatfish type lures out of wood, usually cedar. This can pass the long hours when the lakes and rivers are frozen.

Went Muskie fishing on Sunday. Lake was still (WAY) too low and after only a week of temps above 50, it was still too cold. I got a sizeable hit, though.

Ohh, I very much want to move.  Planning as soon as my daughter is out of high school in two years.  Initially was thinking NC, but after this winter that may not be south enough.  :)

Been in the 70's the last couple weeks or so....Hell it was 81 Sunday. This week looks like more of the same with only a couple in the low 70's during the day and 50's at night....

Caught 3 today and lost a HAWG!!!!

Things are defiantly picking up. Headed to a lake Saturday with a friend of mine that fishes it quite often...it will be my first time on it...but the bass are already bedding and moving to the shallows. Hopefully the bite will be ON and if we get some good ones I'll get y'all some pics.

Nice lookin' bass. We don't get bass like that up here in KY, growing "season" is too short. We get all the huge panfish, catfish and some muskie.

Nice fish Red!   :aok

Warming up here, was 17 degrees this morning.  :)  So hopefully be out soon.  Actually hoping to take a crack at the steelies and browns in the creeks within the next couple of weeks, to try and cure this cabin fever.
