I returned from a 2 day fishing trip from the boundary waters of Canada/US, basically off the North West Angle in Northern Minnesohtah, eh.  As crossed the border north of Roseau, MN, and drive 45 miles or so in Canadian territory and then back in to US territory in the NW Angle.  The fishing was not as good this year, mainly in the quantity department.  We still caught plenty of fish with 4 very nice 25in to 28in Walleye, a 38in Northern that seemed to be as big around as a basketball, a number of crappies, perch, and bass.  We went to a fishing/hunting lodge called "Jake's Northwest Angle", I highly recommend them, this year was the 6th year in a row and we've had the same guide every time.  Not as expensive as one would think.

Lake was too rough last weekend, so I decided to throw the kayak into the Erie Canal.  Caught a few smallmouth, rock bass and a sheepshead.  Sorry no fish pictures, tried but it is tough to get a decent shot in a kayak for me.  Hoping I get out on the lake and get a couple more salmon this weekend.  Season is coming to a close real soon.  :cry  But if the weather cooperates like last year was able to chase browns with my kayak in the river until mid-December.

Thx sir, sorry about your rod, that sux for sure. If its any consolation, couple of years ago I slammed my St Croix in the door of my truck....crushed it to a point it wasnt salvagable.

Still waiting on the pics......post em when i get em.

Was a great day, winds were a little heavy 12 mph gusts to 20. Bucktailed (Heavy jig with a trailer jig) all the ones i got, squid and smelt were the trailers. Got 3 that were about 4lbs, and 1 at 6lbs and 1 at 7lbs. Went with friends from a Saltwater fishing forum I belong too.......fun meeting people you chat with all the time, then getting to go fishing with them...all in all a fantastic day. Caught a bunch of Sea Robins couple of small sharks, and a Blue Runner (which is usually a fish you see in southern atlantic waters) but due to how warm its been up here, were seeing more and more southern fish come up north.

The Stripers are starting to come back, had one caught with sea lice.......means the run is starting.  :x

Post those pics as soon as i get them, but at this point, ill be posting pics of my fish fry tonight  :D

Went to Fork this past weekend for some fishing with a bud...wanted to be there for the UB Rally but I couldnt be there that weekend. Last trip for the year to Fork more than likely....Thought I'd post a couple of pics....The fishing was good on Friday morning and the evening....front came in on friday night and I basically just gave up on it the rest of the weekend...

Thursday afternoon screwing around...

Friday mornings sunrise..

Ribbit frog...I love topwater....

Friday evenings biggest catch...6 1/2 pounds...Ribbits...did I mention I love topwater?

It was a fun day and a half till the weather changed...Then the fish went to hide....lol

  Very nice Red! :aok

You really need to try some poppers on the flyrod when you have good topwater action.  I'm sure you'd get a real kick out of it!
