No. she was doing a photo op. It's actually illegal to harvest a great hammerhead. We pulled her in, snapped some pics, got her back in and towed her a bit to revive her. She was 9.75 ft about 600-700 pounds. My boss had a replica mount made.

Good, I believe you probably knew I was asking because they taste like crap. I've never tried their meat, but I've heard that said enough. I was hoping it wasn't
harvested just for the sake of someone's pride.
In CA/Mex waters I don't know of any restriction on harvesting them other than people are given the weekly arsehat award on bdoutdoors/bloodydecks. I love to see them on my tuna trips, but they are somewhat uncommon unless you surfers without their wetsuits (70+ deg surface temp,) they often are not around the bite zone off San Diego into Mex waters. We do regularly see mako and blues of course.
