I fail to see any problems with this. It gives another goal for the pilot leaving the end of the runway. Every flight I have a mission. Example, it could include, bomber interception, base defense, cv attack etc, but everytime I have at least 1 goal in mind. Now whether or not I achieve it is another thing. this just adds a sort of secondary goal to it as well.
Example, I take off in a 190F-8 intent on attacking the near by V-base. I happen to notice along the way that an achievement is X- amount of kills in a F-8. So now my goals are A) attack the V-base B) X amount of kills.
In what way is this a bad thing? As far as I have seen, the only people that see the achievement is yourself when you get it, and if you look up yours/someone elses name. No name in lights cluttering up the radio etc.
It also breathes some life into a lot of planes. A lot of people, like myself like achievements. This will get a lot of people flying a lot of different aircraft trying to get that 1 or 2 achievements for it.
IMPO, there is absolutely nothing wrong with achievements. Just a bit of self gratification without public attention.
And also it's just fun to see guys at bases jumping jeeps....like myself....
