Leave the "up and down the pole" to the Jokers.

perdweeb

P.S. If this were to happen, the Jokers would not get any takes, theyd be glued to the pole.

Ok here is a thought.. As you come in town the current countries flag is showing. As the buildings are being taken down, the flag lowers. When the troops are entering the flag raises per troop going in. When the town is taken have the explosion like normal with the new countries flag at the top.

Does this sound fesible??

I like that idea, with 1 addition :

If the flag is lowering, you can raise the flag back up yourself by the defenders dropping troops on town as well. Increases the importance of dropping the barracks when on the attack =) Also has the added benefit that the airfield can't be used by the attacking country as a forward base immediately if they drop the barracks. Risk vs. Reward so to speak.

I.e. enemy gets 5 troops to map room, flag lowers by 1/2. You come in with a jeep and get 3 into the map room. Flag now stands at 4/5ths.

I like the flag idea with regards to how many troops have gone in.  Considering the improved terrain of the towns I think the map room should start smoking once the town is down.  This should be fairly easy to incorporate and allows both defenders and attackers to immediately know the status of the town.  Once that pillar of smoke goes up you can bet there will be a fight frenzy around the map room!.

I much prefer the battlefield haze of not really knowing until someone does some recon.  Even though I've gotten burned before because someone missed the church and we didn't get the capture, it just adds to the whole experience of a multi-player online game.

I'm with ImADot ...

Let's see ... hmmmm ... it's much harder now to know if all the buildings are down in order to capture a town, so let's see how we can make it easier thru some crazy idea of a flag going up or down on a pole. Let's not make sure we do the correct recon either by plane or ground vehicle, let's rely on the flag pole.

Good Idea.

Instead, when the flag reached the bottom and all building are down, the flag dissapears.

Reappears when buildings pop.   :headscratch:

I expected there to be a chess piece banner on the flag.  A little sad that the undergorund bunker is completely empty,  A desk / chair, radio room,  nekkid lady posters on the wall would add some nice touches.

YES!!!! I would also like to see costal towns (no bases by them = no value = eyecandy) with girls laying on the beach (just to increase the "oh chit!" factor).

Further inland, they have nice little coffee shops with everything set out, but no people, like they just vanished off the face of the earth.

For the flag thing, once 10 troops enter the map room, the base is already captured, they can't stop it. The old flag lowers, and when its down, the new one is raised. When the flag reaches the top, the message saying "field 133 has been captured by the *chess piece*" is displayed.

I'm with dotty here, it's fun to make sure
I recon the flag coming down and going up with new chess piece is cool after capture but that is all

Or have the logo of the squadron that captured that base on the flag waving above the town, or perhaps below the country's flag.
