Funny. The tide turns. I am not in +precision, I just have a different screen name. You know nothing me either. In fact, I was flying with you this weekend and having a pretty good time with it. The level of respect I have for you and your squaddies is high, tainted with your mocking of my screen name which initiated this spat.
The arrogance was not directed at you Karaya but to others who said "what has this guy ever posted". I am not expousing a point of view as much asking the community to perhaps limit their comments to something useful instead of useless banter.
You want useless banter, post a useless thread. This one is a great example. Look at how many times it has been read and the utility of it is 0. Did people open it because they are curious on how to become a radioactive poster, or just because two guys are having a written argument, who knows? Perhaps the content is accurate and others may feel the same way?
Look at the Brewster thread. Huge in information, awesome discussion, littered with juvenile stupidity. The damage model thread, a recent example of a potentially good thread derailled by silly responses. There are posters here who consistently post valid information that if newer flyers took the time to read many of the complaints from the MA might not be initiated. Like the MA reactions to HO / Ramming et al, the insulting banter on 200 either encourages or dissuades that contact. My observation is not to insult heavy participants in this community, but is to ask some to pause and think before they post a comment. The heavy posters do have a professional obligation to the community. They have invested their time in learning the game and imparting this information. It is sad to see some put an arrogant barrier of knowledge up and insult instead of training the new.
A community is only as good as the character of the people in it. I am now off my soapbox on this.
