the question is, though, could Torque pull off his 8-10kill sorties flying the -1D instead of the over-modeled-hispano DweebC

I have to say, I would really like to BASH torque just once......

I flown with him since 1995/96 when he was 'ppit' and I was 'dach'.

The score is:

Torque (ppit) = 1,325
Badger (dach) = 0

Hmmmmm......then you wonder why he makes me paranoid.....

One hell of a great virtual on-line pilot in my book.

He will never be our (Canada) next ambassador to the UN.

Just my comments on an old virtual friend.......

Regards,
Badger

LOL, whada you meen he shouldn't have won? I dont understand, please clarify.

SimHQ thinks rather highly of him

"Torque plays a heavy role in the flight characteristics of all single-engine aircraft, and is very pronounced at times.  It seems appropriately modeled, at least in how it effects the flight model at various conditions."

OH MY!

Hey now, after many times of hunting him down in WB ACA and flying against him, I got say he is good.......real good. BUT he can be killed!

Just the other night at A37, he paid HBLAIR and I a compliment by saying he been tryin to avoid us two for 2 years......LOL

I'll be the first to admit he is a better SA pilot than I am, and he knows how to ride that stall horn, but if your persisent, you can shoot him down, it ain't easy, you'll die alot doin it, but OH MY it feels so fine when ya do get him.

I came over from WB ACA, where the flight model was ez mode, one thing about ACA that ya can ask Torque, Easymo, HBlair and many others about is the great tool it was for learning SA. And that my friends is why Torque is so hard to kill, he keeps that head moving, dives in ON HIS TERMS, not the enemies, and gets the advantage, hence the kill.

AND rarely will ya see Torque arrogant about his skill. He's kinda like this:

I killed Torque twice in one night.  Both times I died shortly after the meeting while typing "I just killed torque" to a squadmate.

Torque is just plain good.  Flying the F4U-C1 or not. You can get yourself in a bad situation in that plane if your not good.  He makes it sing, and there is nothing wrong with that!

Not sure I understand this. Since you've had yer sights set on Torque fer the last 1/2 century, perhaps some specifics are finally in order.

OTOH, if yer gonna simply chalk it up to some kinda cheating, save yer breath. I don't think anyone's buyin'.

It's not the plane that I fear up there, it's "the man behind the wheels"...

Hey, I like torque.  He kills, doesn't taunt and doesn't whine.  He seems to enjoy himself online.  I'm sure when he graduates to the F4U-1D, he'll be a really scary pilot.  Besides, since he kills and doesn't flaunt it, it feels really good when you finally whack him.

And he doesn't brag, unlike many people on this here board.
Required Public Disclosure information:
dinger has 5 kills and has been killed 2 times against torque.

okay, okay, perhaps I was a little optimistic; this is more representative:
dinger has 0 kills and has been killed 2 times against torque in the F4U-1C.

Sigh. Back to work.

My "Pissed Me Off" button got pushed too hard.  This caused my nose to get bent and my arse to become tweaked.  My unwise typing fingers to begin twitching uncontrolably over the keyboard in silly arrogance (Which I can't even spell correctly).
