careful with saying you'll never say or do what your parents did or said.

i used to say that too. lately, more and more, i'm finding that the things my grandparents said(they raised me) that i'd do, and i said i'd never do......whelp.......they were right.

trust me there is pretty much nothing I would do, that my old man did or say to me, to to my kids,

there are many things that I say or do to my kids, that my dad never did though

for instance

I Love you...I am proud of you....I am glad you are my child.....Stay out of the damn road.....telling them its okay that they did something "wrong" its just not okay that they  lied about it.

a  spanking instead of punching them in the face or bouncing there head off a granite wall.....

ya my "dad" was a...... was a........ well cant really say it here.

It sickens me how my generation has crucified the English language. I missed the golden years of America, didn't I? 40's-80's?

I'm betting a couple of Brits on here might've heard this as a child.

Yup. Had this question been asked of us 25 years ago. I could have come up with a list of things my mother said longer then a single post would allow. Now, 2 kids later I find myself using most of them myself. LOL

there have been a few popular ones over the years that I have found annoying

"Bad" -meaning good or cool
"My brotha/sista"
"Bling"
"crib" -someones home
"That Was 'the Joint'- some real cool thing, place, or event

Some of em now are pretty stupid. but for the life of me. none of the currently annoying phrases are coming to mind.

There is one that I find irritating every time I hear it. And while I have all the admiration and respect in the world for our armed forces.
this habit of going "Whooa" Among military personnel Just to me makes em sound like a group of retards

Current annoying phrases.

"Thass righ'"
"Uhhhhhhuh"
"Oh no he/she di'nt"
"God Dog!"
"That stuff was the s***"
"Ree-ree, tard or artard" (incorrect phrases, I do not say these, I am politically correct and actually think before I speak, a characteristic missing in many of today's kids). These are always blatant and intentional, if you can't say anything nice, keep your mouth shut.
