The only thing I will add to this is; When we recruit people into our squad, we tell them that at the end of the night when they log off and that they had fun. That is our end result. Papajohn, there are alot of ways to have fun in this game. Try having jeep races on your squad night. Just my 3 cents.

Another reason it means nothing really.

The damage points will suffer greatly by the end of the tour if someone does this.  Of course, if you game it to where you fly just the right amount in fighter mode in vulchfests and soft fights, you can probably very easily attain a fighter rank in the top 20 with absurd ratios.

To summarize:

1)  Scores make one feel better about getting killed in a violent, non-fire-retardant manner by better pilots;
2)  Everyone that has been flying in the MA knows who the more adaptive, creative and skilled pilots are because of #1;
3)  The skilled pilots in #2 know who they are and almost ALWAYS try to help you when you ask because they know that person sux;
4)  Pilots who do not accept #2 accuse anyone of "cheating" that hammers their bellybutton when they aren't watching, ie the Grizz tater deflection shot (don't read ankle hump here, read
     amazement and wonder);
5)  This game isn't real (thought I would throw that in here for the pragmatists);
6)  Scores are dependent upon HOW YOU FIGHT.  BnZer = Low kills per hour, high kill to death ratio, etc, Furballer = High kills per hour, horrible K/D ratio;
7)  Exceptionally skilled pilot = KILL YOU IN EITHER SITUATION depending upon their mood...you know who they are because of #2 and their "score" remains stable.

I would like to bring up another point....personal articles lost during battle.  Sometime ago, Kappa blew my entire aircraft into tiny pieces with such a violent explosion that my Nike Air Jordan shoe ($180 a pair) was blown INTO his aircraft to which he promised to return the shoe to me in a timely manner.  I still do not have my shoe back...even with the charred, melted inserts, I want my shoe back.  Now, normally I have not asked for things back...Shuffler has my timex watch, TonyJoey has my college OU baseball hat (my eyebrows were burned off on that one), Grizz has my wallet (I called him a cheater and a showoff on that one...it didn't have any money in it so he can keep it), and Kappa has my shoe.

Guys....you can't keep my crap....you just can't.  Please call HiTech, drop them in the lost and found and I will drive by there and pick them up...no questions asked...but I want my crap back.

PS - READ DODGER's SIGNATURE.....this game is about the fight boys because the good pilots are gonna kill you either way and laugh about scores.  Get mad, get even and have fun...

  Ive always wished they had a system that somehow saw that it was a 4 on 1 and you killed 3 before the 4th got ya. But since we dont, I ignore scores ranks and stats. When it comes down to it, the only meter Im interested in is how I do 1 on 1 vs an even advantage, or better yet a 1 on 1 vs someone with all the advantage.

   All this other stuff about staying fast to stay alive, staying high etc is for the birds.....literally

That is a simple fix.  Tune channel 200 OFF!  Unless you are in Early or Midwar and stuck with channel 1 always on.

I have been playing this game 6 months. Prior to playing AH, I played Warbirds for 2 months. I had zero prior experience to flight sims. I am currently ranked 11th in the game. This is not a brag, but is testament to the fact that score...does not matter. All it took on my part (for attack/bomber/gv) was to go out and look up how to manipulate my stats so that my rank would get pushed low. This was mostly an experiment on my part and I am telling you this because of two reasons.

First. For all the weirdos out there that always use the "Your score is a joke, and you suck..." reasoning on Channel 200 you need to readjust your argument. If some 6 month noob can manipulate the score to be ranked 11th it shows that rank/score does not matter.

Second. The scoring system is broke. I have no suggestions at this point other than...get rid of ranks-keep the stats. Stats are interesting to look at and shows you which areas to improve in. Ranks/Score seems to lead to what is commonly referred to as score whoring. I found myself guilty of this yesterday (I stole a kill from someone...something I usually do not do). We are all human, and as humans we like to compete. When it comes right down to it score serves no purpose other than for idiots to brag about it on Ch200...and less than desirable flying behavior by some pilots.

They usually fly under 10 sorties in Fighter mode and either all engaged bandits are bomber formations or vulches then they score every flight under Attack.  There is a guy in the MW arena, Biggamer, that does this so he can get a high fighter rank and boast how good he is in a fighter.

That might be true for some. I discovered you can take ten minutes flying to a fight and kill just six airplanes (bombers) and land and match not only hit percentage but kills/sortie and kills/time on most of the top ranking guys. Hitech said vultching is the ultimate payoff and Im sure its fun for some of these guys that cant figure out how to kill otherwise but vultching and picking are not the only way.

The highest ratio I have ever had (double your current ratio of kills/time) was defending fields from NOE attacks (again bombers). In that scenario you dont even have to climb above 3k and most of the kills are very easy these days (as you well know).
