Save Position
« on: August 11, 2010, 01:49:13 PM »
I don't know if it would be even remotely possible but.......

I was thinking today after i got a disco while I had lancs at 25K that it would be nice if the game could
save your last know position and once you got back into the game you could continue from where you
were. I rarely ever disco but when i do it always seems to happen during a long flight or long drive.

Like i said i doubt its even possible but if it is it would be great.

Can't see how it would be possible.  Plus it would be gamed to the extreme.  Basically seems like the same thing as asking for a pause button.

I can see it now...
Some dude's 262 is closing fast on your bombers.  You hit the magic pause button and just disappear until you figure he gets bored and moves on, at which time you resume right where you were and continue to your target.

I would love it but it would be far too over gamed.

I swear i can fly anything unperked and not disco but everytime i fly a perk plane or up a perked tank i disco. rather frustrating considering how rare it is that i up anything perked.
I think my internet is programmed to know when i'm in somethng perked so it can crash.....

This could work... But ,it would require a lot of programming there could be some rules for it, for example it wouldn't be manually operated if you got discoed you would still be flying just how you left it and if you come back within say 1-2 mins or so you can continue where you left off, if you don't come back your plane blows up.

I find myself agreeing with gyrene. If you purposely disco then you could wait until the interceptors that had just gotten to your alt went home and then start your bomb run over.

No! Thats a BIG no!  :D

Well there's got to be something that can be done. I'm fed up with losing perks and losing an entire bombing run b/c of a disco. I don't disco very often but it never fails to happen on long flights and when i'm in perk rides.

If anything at least let me keep my perks when i disco.

The best thing you can do is visit the tech support forum and email Skuzzy a ping plot. I believe details are posted in the stickies of that forum or you can write Skuzzy and ask him what he needs to help you find the source of the problem. Sometimes there is nothing he can do to help but quite often he can tell you who to scream at.  :D

A frusrstating one at that. I've lost a 262 and 3 C-hogs in the last 2 months from discos. The only nonperk ride I've discoed in was lancs and that happened at 25K.
I don't fly fighters very often so i don't have to many fighter perks. So I'd like to be able to keep them when i disco or let me start back from where I left off.

No one read my idea? It wouldn't be abused if something like that was implemented the attacker would still get to shoot you down if you disco... :bolt:

At the 2003 Con I was rtb with 6 kills in a Yak-9U with HTC craning his neck, as I hit my final approach.   Then "WHAM!", disco.   He laughed hard and rectified a server issue.   Bottom line though, disco's happen.  We've ALL lost 262's to disco's, don't think you're the only one.
