I just installed some Windows 7 updates and the game has been more stable and loads quicker. No hesitation, and as of yet, no crashes. Maybe they(MS) got of thier rears and used the error reports?

SEseph when were the updates dated?  I just checked no updates since the two on 8/24.

one more thing guys, did anybody notice if the crashes happen more when you are on autopilot and not talking on vox.  I noticed most of my discos have been when I was on autopilot either going or coming from a fite.  I have not actually been discoed while in a furball.  just level flight, then move stick and boom, freeze.  then i have to hit reset button.

I don't know when they were released, but I have in my logs those from the 24Th and the 3rd (when I installed). They carry the same update # as those on the 24Th, but there would be no reason for me to needed to reinstall. Or at least to my knowledge. Just to reinforce that statement, I have a total of 9 updates since the 24Th, and only 2 are doubled (I counted those in the 9 as 4). The other 5 were independent, dissimilar hardware/software. One would think they would all need to be redone, but it's microsoft so I don't really know, nor fully understand. Hope this helps. Oh, the numbers associated with those 2 are: KB982110 and KB2272691

Before the 3rds' update, the game would lock up my PC every time it switched.. modes? Such as Opening the game, selecting an arena, Alt+Tab was not something I could do without possibly crashing the game. And the random CTD/Full crashes/slowness started at the same time others did. Now it's quick. Alt Tab takes how ever long it takes to hit the buttons. Game seems stable. Might be a trick, but that's what I am seeing.

The same problem is continuing and hasn't resolved itself.

However, on most of the maps its not happening as often and on the map that was in Orange yesterday it only happened around HQ. Two of us were flying together, saw the 'white artifacts' around HQ and we had the 'app crash' occur.

Has anybody tried running their windows7 64 bit in XP mode (virtualization).  not compatabilty, I don't have it on Home Premium windows7!  Don't know if I should upgrade my windows7 or install another HDD with XP on it in my comp?

there's another thread were people asked this same question, something about vitualization only for legacy programs and would probably not work well with AH.

I have had problems as well! it started about 2 pm yesterday

it shut me down after playing for about two hours,,, then the next time i tried to log on, as soon as I got in the game it locked up, and froze everything
I tried it again   off line after getting my computer running 4 hours later and the same thing,,, then i found one of my processors set to a new Lower value then the others,   I have no idea if that made any difference but i reset it and restored my computer back to 2 am the 15th
after i got it running again  it asked me to update quiktime. I have not updated anything since restarting it the last time!
No trouble since I got it back up about ten last night, a quick tear down and cleaning was due as well, with a hope that it was something I could magically touch and make better!  so far so good!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ok now that I have read the whole 10 pages  yes my whole system failed, yes it had updated ,  forgot how to send a dx
mine is fixed as far as I can tell,, played a good bit today as well as last night for a few hours after I got it back up
let me know what you need! I will try to tell you anything I can about what i did! and I wil post a DX as soon as I remember were to find it!

If one of the cores is changing speeds, it sounds like the CPU is getting hot at that one core location of the die.  Running the game will certainly cause more heat to be generated.  Try setting the game to run in "Windows 98/Windows ME" compatibility mode.  This will force the game to be locked to one core.

See if that helps.

Setting AH to run in XP mode hasn't worked for me.

I still wondering if it is map related, certain maps I never have a problem on. Others, it may be located around HQ only. Others, I get the 'app crash' error all the time.

That said, I haven't had an app crash on my end in a couple weeks, and overall it is way in recurrence.
