Getting fights goin?
« on: August 14, 2010, 01:54:46 PM »
O.K here's a idea for the DA,take out the scores-stats like the one time,(And when it was no score more where willing )second take away the the game I.D landed kills.
And yes there are many in there who do care about score, rank, and always landing there 2 kills as funny as it is.Lately all it's been is a start of a fight but when they get reversed they all run to ack or 8 friends,it's become more about who gets the most landed kills or who has a better !none! useful score so there all tryin to protect it,and avoiding a fight.Don't get me wrong there is about 8 or so who will go for a fun go round but not enough.Unless people from the MA pop in then it's a fun time!but that's far between visits. And yes I no one can ask for a 1v1 or 2,3 ad 4v4 but go in the DA and ask you will get crickets chirping.Only time I see any kind of 1v1 and so on is with my squad or squad verses squad and when MA sticks pop in.

So it's all a idea to improve on some fast furball killin!
Fly and kill until it's your time to be killed!

If you dont care about the score, then dont worry about the others.  it will take the frustration out of flying there.  seeing all those tempest just hoing everybody and everything, its not a big deal anymore,  I learn to avoid the ho's and practice my ho's without getting damage.  also if there's too many of them then it's an oportinutiy to practice your skills.  I belive that's the only reason for DA for me.  I hardly ever land, even if I run out of ammo, i will still chase a con and see if i can make it crash.

He's trying to point out that score , name-in-lights, IS the engine for most of the negative behavior there. You can always spot a guy in the MA who had his training at furball lake. After the HO attempt, stick-stir and try-to-make-plane-fly-underground as they run, they are pretty much out of ideas. If landing kills and displaying their impressive record was removed as a motivational factor, mebbe more would come around to your way of thinking, and it would be a more enjoyable place :)

when I got to the DA, I never plan on landing after I take off, although I have landed very very broken planes, it was to see if I could make it back, not to see my name in lights, usually I fight till I a) run out of ammo, b) get shot down, or c) run out of fuel, I like the D/A for all the temps, F4U-4s spit 16/14's, I usually fly the N1K2 or the A6M2 (its my ENY ride in the MA) and I like the challenge of slowing the faster things down, or suckering spit 16 in to turn fights, or supprising Brewster's with a quick shoot straight up and letting them follow me and stall, for me the DA is a good place to practice for the MA because it has no score and also teaches me to fight of 12 guys trying to go in for the kill lmao

It's not about the ones who only have the skill to HO!That's not what I'm asking. It;s to take out the score and the name in highlights when they land kills. And when does land kills it seems to be two maybe three.By taking out score and name in highlights maybe then more will say heck nothin to show for it and end up fighting more instead of engaging and when reversed cause all they depend on is the HO!And conclusion when reversed they all run and by running it's not extending it's go to the most friendly or there ack.I go in to the DA to work on some awareness skills and my ACM.I except that most who fly in DA lately dont have the some of the same skill since all the good sticks that I can remember like TNdep, changeup,Fastride,Sars or whatever he is using now,higheye,A8blood,and there is some forgotten sorry. But when REV dr.bone check7,Melvin,Merlin,Dodger,Puff,Tndep peak thee heads in its always a great time and learning grove.
So taken away landing kills and score like when score was removed it made many furball(fight)more.Just my thought since I fly there early morning and late night after MA for some fast pace fun.
So HOIN! let it go on fun to try to avoid it's now a 70/30 chance now LOL!

After staring at this for several minutes trying to decipher it, I'm guessing that junior is under the mistaken impression that the DA keeps track of scores and that removing the name in lights will stop what he believes to be lame behavior. Junior should pay more attention. Behaviors are predictable in the DA, generally based on plane type and situation. If junior doesn't want to get HO'd, junior needs to learn to fly smarter and stop going nose to nose with other people. If junior wants others to fight on his terms, junior needs to wake up, the more intelligent players are going to try and force the fight on their terms. Judging from the OP and the quoted random blathering above, junior's attempt to improve his awareness and ACM isn't working that well thus far, perhaps there is some hope for improvement in the long run.

LMAO, you were just in there? No wonder I disco'd.  :rofl

Notice sir, the ranks which are based on points are all zero, what you are looking at is stats. Still no score in the DA. You do not get points for landing kills, dropping bombs, killing tanks, etc...

It's your score sheet
IN AH terms, there are stats, score and ranks. What you see is the score information, which is used to compute ranks if that's enabled (in DA it ain't) And this score (called up by .score, not by .stats ;) ) is what the OP (and some others) think is hampering the DA as you still can compare K/D, number of kills and so on.

They are not ranked or stored from tour to tour, but there are still scores

I beg to differ sir. There is a difference between scores and statistics. Anytime percentages are weighed against a sum, that is statistical information. There is no score in the DA any more than there is score in the TA. But I understand where there could be a misconception based on the name in lights thing.
