I am saying it is not your end nor the servers end but the random interchanges of the internet. So how can HTC possibly give you free access back into the capped arena when you are disconnected from the arena. There is no way for them to give you special access back into the arena except maybe if you got disconnected from their server but if a random interchange clicked off no way they could for see it.
Ahh i cant explain this correctly whatever...
Curry, I'm calling BS on that. The game already knows the difference between quitting and being disconnected. It does not matter why you were disconnected, but just that you were. I'm only talking about a window of a couple of minutes to let you back it.. heck it doesn't even need to deny anyone else access either during that time.. just let the numbers go over a bit. It already happens all the time. If someone were to yank their cable, they likely won't want to come right back in anyway.
Personally, to be honest, I almost never suffer from disconnects.. maybe twice in the last six months.. so it really doesn't matter THAT much to me... but I have squadmates that get disconnected all of the time and it's very... unpleasant... to be having a great time flying around with your friends with a lot of support for various missions, etc... only to have a few people get disconnected and then they can't get back in.. and the rest of us get angry to the point in which things just aren't fun anymore.
It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. We pay to come on here and have fun. When things like this happen (which IMO is easily fixed) then it takes away the fun. Yes, we can't always control when or how disconnects happen, but since HT is adamant on maintaining arena caps, then they should at least have some kind of plan invoked for this sort of thing when it happens.
Make a set of rules.. maybe like this
- Player must have been logged in to the arena for at least ten minutes prior
- Player must have been disconnected from the arena
- Player is given 5 minutes from time of disconnection to re-enter arena, during which time the arena cap doesn't apply
- If player does not meet all three criteria, then they are not allowed back into the arena, unless that arena isn't full
I don't see why this would be impossible to implement, and I don't understand why anyone would be against this, but I'm willing to listen to arguments against this if you care to explain.
