Spot on Uptown. Typical scenerio I see every day here: Merge with con and 99.9999% chance if it is co-alt, he just goes nose down and runs for help. They gather 2 or 3 guys and suddenly find thier bravery. Flying alone most of these days, I have come to accept this and tried to counter it best I could as well as most merges with anyone will almost always result in the other guy spraying at 1k to your face.
Whats been erking me is that 2 or 3 of these engagments will sometimes result in me saying "F it, Im HOing everything that moves". Only contributing to the problem. Biggest change Ive seen through the years is that there are alot more people taking this game alot more seriously. More each day are concerned about score/rank, amount of real estate they own on the map or plan old tryin to pizz off the other guy.

that's when i either log for the night, or take up a buff, and see how many people i can piss off.

So you're saying a controlled merge in the DA to create a fair fight that starts on equal footing are "funny rules"?  Join the next dueling ladder.  Or are you one who always needs an advantage?

What's equal about a Spixteen against a C205? Yes, saying "fly what you want but you have to do blah, blah, blah..." is funny rules. Which is what generally happens in impromptu 1v1 duels in the DA. Your dueling ladder example is a different setup, not the same.

cant even do it in the DA  lol  Had a good 1v1 going with another A6M.  lasted a good 3 minutes.  Could have had a kill shot but was having fun just flying around in circles, no hoes.  Then I got picked.  It will never end  lol

The DA away from the lake is about as private as it gets until HTC gives us player rooms, isn't it.

Between the Main Arena (everything goes, don't whine about ANYTHING for crying out loud), Scenarios (strategic simulation), Dueling Arena (small fights), KOTH, FSO, Snapshots, Air Racing, WWI, EW/MW, etc etc etc, seems like there's more than enough room for folks who want to fly a particular way to find a place to do it. Sure, maybe a no-strat / bombs do zero damage furball arena might be fun, but half the whines are about how people furball anyway, so what good would that actually do?

I have a feeling the new H2H setup that they mentioned a while back, with the ability for player defined arenas or whatever it's going to be might allow the people who desire 2 player gameplay to be able to get it.  Password protected, number capped arenas, only allowing the other guy in...  I could see that becoming popular for those who want their dueling to be unimpeded by pickers.

I wonder what that will do to the Main Arena numbers though...

Yea, if it's one of the 3 Fridays a month or one of the Saturdays every 3 months. People need to stop equating " Special" events as equal to the every hour of every day main arena.

    Once you play long enough you will block out all the stuff you once thought was important and hope only to find a good fight 1 on 1. It may take 5 gangbangs to get there, but you just shrug it off and try again.  Eventually you have a fight that keeps your excitement level up.
